Termination of Anti-Dumping Duty in Respect of Lead Acid Batteries from Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan
In accordance with section 14 (7) of the Dumping and Countervailing Duties Act 1988 (“the Act”), I hereby terminate, with effect from 22 June 1999, the imposition of anti-dumping duty imposed on lead acid batteries from Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan by reason that a review under section 14 (8) of the Act has found that the expiry of the current anti-dumping duty would be unlikely to lead to the recurrence of dumping or injury.
The notice given by the Minister of Commerce entitled “Final Determination and Imposition of Anti-Dumping Duty: Lead Acid Batteries from Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan” dated 9 December 1991 and published in the New Zealand Gazette of 12 December 1991 (as amended by the notice published in the New Zealand Gazette of 20 February 1992, entitled “Final Determination and Imposition of Anti-Dumping Duty: Lead Acid Batteries from Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan: Amendment No. 1” and the notice dated 23 July 1992 published in the New Zealand Gazette of 30 July 1992, entitled “Final Determination and Imposition of Anti-Dumping Duty: Lead Acid Batteries from Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan: Amendment No. 2” and reassessed in notices dated 21 June 1994 published in the New Zealand Gazette of 23 June 1994, 12 February 1998 and 2 July 1998 published in the New Zealand Gazette of 16 July 1998, entitled “Notice of Reassessment of Anti-Dumping Duty on Lead Acid Batteries from Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan”, and reviewed in a notice dated 21 June 1994 and published in the New Zealand Gazette of 23 June 1994) is hereby revoked.

Termination of Anti-Dumping Duty in Respect of Sweetened Condensed Milk from Thailand
In accordance with section 14 (7) of the Dumping and Countervailing Duties Act 1988 (“the Act”), I hereby terminate, with effect from 14 July 1999, the imposition of anti-dumping duty imposed on sweetened condensed milk in retail sized cans not exceeding 450 grams from Thailand due to the cessation of production of like goods in New Zealand.
The notice given by the Minister of Commerce entitled “Final Determination: Sweetened Condensed Milk From Thailand” dated 28 April 1995 and published in the New Zealand Gazette of 4 May 1995 is hereby revoked.

On the 27th day of January 2000 at the District Court at Hamilton, Timi James Waaka of 8 Hall Street, Huntly, was convicted and sentenced to 3 months imprisonment and disqualified from holding or obtaining a motor driver’s licence for 12 months from 27 January 2000, following his conviction on 27 January 2000 for an offence of driving while disqualified (third or subsequent offence), and in addition to the above-mentioned penalty, Judge J. L. Rota, has ordered that a
Toyota Cressida motor vehicle, registration No. RQ 7114
owned by the above-mentioned defendant, Timi James Waaka, be forfeited to Her Majesty, pursuant to section 84 (4) of the Criminal Justice Act 1985.
The vehicle is to be surrendered to the Registrar, District Court, Hamilton, or a Bailiff of the District Court, Hamilton, by 5.00 p.m. on the 27th day of January 2000.
