Call For Submissions

The authority has made a preliminary assessment, accepted the following application for further consideration and will now make a full assessment of it.

You are invited to present written submissions to the authority, including the potential regulatory impact on consumers, industry and government, by Wednesday, 4 October 2000:

  • Application A417:
    Tall Oil Non-Esterified Phytosterols—Proposals (minor matters)—The following proposals are mechanical matters to allow the adoption of the following existing standards from the current Food Standards Code into the proposed Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code.

You are invited to present written submissions to the authority on these matters, including the potential regulatory impact on consumers, industry and government, by Tuesday, 5 September 2000:

  • Proposal P223:
    Adoption of Standard A17—Irradiation of Food and Standard A19—Novel Foods.

  • Proposal P224:
    Adoption of certain provisions relating to Country of Origin Labelling and Health Claims.

Matters Before Council

The authority has completed its inquiries into the variations to standards prepared at full assessment of the following matters and has made recommendations to the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Council that the variations be adopted into the Food Standards Code:

  • Maximum Residue Limits (Applications A398, A401 and A407).

Applications to amend Maximum Residue Limits for a number of agricultural chemicals in Australia.
