Electricity Act 1992

Notice of Disciplinary Action Taken by the Electrical Workers Registration Board

The Registrar of the Electrical Workers Registration Board (“the board”), having been directed by the board, in accordance with section 139 of the Electricity Act 1992, gives notice of the following registered electrical workers having been disciplined by the board under Part XI of the Electricity Act 1992, and the effect of the decision or order of the board:

John Charles Brothers of Auckland, had his electrician’s registration restricted for a period of 3 years from 26 October 1999. The restriction is that he can not supervise prescribed electrical work carried out by any other person and certify such work. Mr Brothers was fined one thousand five hundred dollars ($1500) and ordered to pay costs of seven hundred and fifty dollars ($750). The fine and costs to be paid by 26 November 1999.

Terence William Dixon of Auckland, had his electrician’s registration restricted for 3 years from 27 October 1999. The restriction is that he can not supervise prescribed electrical work carried out by any other person and certify such work. Mr Dixon was fined one thousand dollars ($1000) and ordered to pay costs of four hundred and fifty dollars ($450). The fine and costs to be paid by 26 November 1999.

Order for Confiscation of Motor Vehicle

Pursuant to Section 84 of the Criminal Justice Act 1985

On the 14th day of December 1999 at the District Court at Hamilton, Vernon Jack Tiaki Rau of 59 Halberg Crescent, Hamilton, was convicted and sentenced to 5 months periodic detention and disqualified from holding or obtaining a motor driver’s licence for 12 months from 14 December 1999, for an offence of driving whilst disqualified (third or subsequent offence), and in addition to the above-mentioned penalty, Judge R. L. B. Spear ordered that a

Honda Prelude motor vehicle, registration No. PC 8322 owned by the above-mentioned defendant, Vernon Jack Tiaki Rau, be forfeited to Her Majesty the Queen, pursuant to section 84 (4) of the Criminal Justice Act 1985.

The vehicle is to be surrendered to the Registrar, District Court, Hamilton, or a Bailiff of the District Court, Hamilton, by 3.00 p.m. on the 14th day of December 1999.

Scott and P. Fergusson have ordered that a

Mazda 323 motor vehicle, registration No. LK 5740 owned by the above-mentioned defendant, Ian Brown, be forfeited to Her Majesty the Queen, pursuant to section 84 (4) of the Criminal Justice Act 1985.\n
The vehicle is to be surrendered to the Registrar, District Court, Hamilton, or a Bailiff of the District Court, Hamilton, by 5.00 p.m. on the 16th day of December 1999.

On the 2nd day of November 1999 at the District Court at Morrinsville, Brian Lindsay Wilton of 337B Waghorn Road, Waharoa, was convicted and sentenced to 7 days imprisonment and disqualified from holding or obtaining a motor driver’s licence for 6 months, for an offence of driving whilst disqualified.

And in addition to the above-mentioned penalty, Judge R. J. Gittos ordered that a

Toyota Hilux motor vehicle, registration No. RM 826 owned by the above-mentioned defendant, Brian Lindsay Wilton, be forfeited to Her Majesty the Queen, pursuant to section 84 (4) of the Criminal Justice Act 1985.

The vehicle is to be surrendered to the Registrar, District Court at Morrinsville, or a Bailiff of the District Court, by 3.00 p.m. on the 2nd day of November 1999.
