Call for Submissions—Review Proposals

The authority will conduct inquiries into the draft joint Australia New Zealand food standards prepared at full assessment of the following matters, prior to making recommendations to the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Council. You are invited to present submissions to the authority on these matters, including the potential regulatory impact on consumers, industry and government, by 22 September 1999.

Fruit and Vegetable Juices (P182) A proposal the review regulations for fruit juice and vegetable juices.

Labelling requirements for Fatty Acids (P213) A proposal the review regulations for the labelling of fatty acids.

Call for Submissions—Applications

The authority has made a preliminary assessment, accepted the following application for further consideration, and will now make a full assessment of it. You are invited to present written submissions to the authority, including the potential regulatory impact on consumers, industry and government, by 29 September 1999. The information paper on this matter provides further information including advice on the authority’s policy regarding submissions:

Unit Pricing of Foods (A395) An application received on 16 July 1999 from the Australian Consumers’ Association to require the provision of unit pricing of all packaged and unpackaged foods.
