Notice of Withdrawal of Product Ruling

1. This is a notice of withdrawal of a product ruling made under section 91F of the Tax Administration Act 1994.

2. Product ruling No. 98/72 is hereby withdrawn.

3. Product ruling 98/72 related to G.S.T. and the zero-rating of school fees. It applied for the period 13 August 1998 to 31 December 2002. Notice of its making appeared in the New Zealand Gazette of 3 September 1998. It is withdrawn on and from 8 July 1999.

Gaming and Lotteries Act 1977

Permission to Conduct Within New Zealand a Lottery Promoted Outside New Zealand

Pursuant to section 69 of the Gaming and Lotteries Act 1977, I, Jack Elder, Minister of Internal Affairs, hereby permit Incentive House (Poslod Pty Limited), to conduct within New Zealand, subject to the conditions specified in the Schedule to this notice, a lottery promoted outside New Zealand as a sales promotion scheme, to promote the sale of the electrical products.

Conditions

The permission given by this notice is subject to the following conditions, namely:

(1) Incentive House (Poslod Pty Limited) shall not conduct the sales promotion scheme in New Zealand after 30 June 2000;

(2) The results of the sales promotion scheme shall be published in the Sunday Star Times on the fourth Sunday of each month until the final on 23 July 2000; Winners will be notified by certified mail;

(3) New Zealand winners shall not be subject to any extra cost when they claim their prizes;

(4) The chance of a New Zealand participant winning a prize shall be equal to that of an overseas participant.
