Dumping and Countervailing Duties Act 1988
Notice of Review of Need for Continued Imposition of Anti-Dumping Duty on Lead Acid Batteries for Passenger Motor Vehicles from Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan
I hereby give notice that, pursuant to section 14 (8) of the Dumping and Countervailing Duties Act 1988, I have initiated a review of the need for the continued imposition of anti-dumping duty on the goods described in the Schedule to this notice. Anti-dumping duty was imposed by the Minister of Commerce by a notice dated 9 December 1991 published in the New Zealand Gazette of 12 December 1991, amended in notices dated 13 February 1992 and 23 July 1992 published in the New Zealand Gazette of 30 July 1992, reassessed in notices dated 21 June 1994 published in the New Zealand Gazette of 23 June 1994, 12 February 1998 published in the New Zealand Gazette of 24 February 1998, 2 July 1998 published in the New Zealand Gazette of 16 July 1998 and the need for their continued imposition reviewed in a notice dated 21 June 1994 published in the New Zealand Gazette of 23 June 1994.

Lead acid automotive replacement batteries for the passenger motor vehicle market and marine applications (excluding DIN batteries).
The goods in the Schedule are currently classified under the following Tariff Item and Statistical Keys of the Tariff of New Zealand, 8507.10.09 (Statistical Keys 12J, 15C, and 19F); this Tariff Item and Statistical Keys are provided for convenience and Customs purposes only, the written description being dispositive.

Penal Institutions—Security Operational Standards
Pursuant to section 36ZG of the Penal Institutions Act 1954, notice is given that the following Security Operational Standards, have been issued in relation to the Penal Institutions Regulations, and take effect from 14 July 1999:
- SOS-1 Use of Mechanical Restraints and Physical Holds on Prisoners.
- SOS-2 Unauthorised Items—Prisoners.
Copies of these Security Operational Standards are available:
- At all prisons, for inspection by inmates; and
- For inspection by members of the public at any public library that is a party to the Depository Library Scheme.
