Notice of Withdrawal of Product Ruling

This is a notice of withdrawal of a product ruling made under section 91F of the Tax Administration Act 1994.

Product ruling No. 99/3 is hereby withdrawn to allow for a replacement ruling clarifying certain details to be issued.

Product ruling No. 99/3 related to an income protection indemnity value contract. It applied for the period 1 April 1999 to 31 March 2002. Notice of its making appeared in the New Zealand Gazette of 13 May 1999. It is withdrawn on and from 17 June 1999.

Members of the Architects’ Education and Registration Board Appointed
The Minister of Internal Affairs has been pleased to appoint, in terms of section 33 of the Architects Act 1963
Alick Leslie Bellerby of Christchurch, for a term of 3 years, commencing on the date of appointment
and to reappoint
John Balfour Patience of Lower Hutt, for a term of 3 years, commencing on 1 June 1997
Judith Rosina Taylor of Wellington, for a term of 3 years, commencing on 1 June 1997;
on the nomination of the New Zealand Institute of Architects Inc;
and to appoint
Fiona Marie Christeller of Lower Hutt, for a term of 3 years, commencing on the date of appointment
after consultation with the Minister of Consumer Affairs;
and to reappoint
William David Champion of Otaki, for a term of 3 years, commencing on 1 June 1997
on the nomination of the New Zealand Institute of Professional Engineers of New Zealand Inc;
and to appoint
David Kernohan of Carterton, for a term of 3 years, commencing on the date of appointment
on the nomination of the New Zealand Vice-Chancellors’ Committee;
and to appoint
Saul Roberts of Auckland, for a term of 3 years, commencing on the date of appointment;
to be members of the Architects Education and Registration Board all for a term of office of 3 years, as specified, either on 30 May 2000 or 3 years from the date of their appointment.

Gaming and Lotteries Act 1977
Permission to Conduct Within New Zealand a Lottery Promoted Outside New Zealand
Pursuant to section 69 of the Gaming and Lotteries Act 1977, I Jack Elder, Minister of Internal Affairs, hereby permit Hills Industries Limited, to conduct within New Zealand, subject to the conditions specified in the Schedule to this notice, a lottery promoted outside New Zealand as a sales promotion scheme, to promote the sale of the Playtime range of gyms, slides and trampolines.

Conditions
The permission given by this notice is subject to the following conditions, namely:
(1) Hills Industries Limited shall not conduct the sales promotion scheme in New Zealand after 7 January 2000;
(2) The results of the sales promotion scheme shall be published in the Sunday Star Times on 30 January 2000;
Winners will be notified by certified mail;
(3) New Zealand winners shall not be subject to any extra cost when they claim their prizes;
(4) The chance of a New Zealand participant winning a prize shall be equal to that of an overseas participant.

Permission to Conduct Within New Zealand a Lottery Promoted Outside New Zealand
Pursuant to section 69 of the Gaming and Lotteries Act 1977, I Jack Elder, Minister of Internal Affairs, hereby permit Hyatt International Hotels, to conduct within New Zealand, subject to the conditions specified in the Schedule to this notice, a lottery promoted outside New Zealand as a sales promotion scheme, to promote the sale of the low season sales.

The permission given by this notice is subject to the following conditions, namely:
(1) Hyatt International Hotels shall not conduct the sales promotion scheme in New Zealand after 30 September 1999;
(2) The results of the sales promotion scheme shall be published in the Sunday Star Times on 12 December 1999;
Winners will be notified by certified mail;
(3) New Zealand winners shall not be subject to any extra cost when they claim their prizes;
(4) The chance of a New Zealand participant winning a prize shall be equal to that of an overseas participant.
