Appointment of a Temporary Judge of the Employment Court
Pursuant to section 116 of the Employment Contracts Act 1991, His Excellency the Governor-General of New Zealand has been pleased to appoint
Coral May Shaw, District Court Judge
to be a temporary Judge of the Employment Court until 31 December 1999.

Civil Aviation Act 1990
Notice of Variation of a Scheduled International Air Service Licence
Pursuant to the Civil Aviation Act 1990, the State Sector Act 1988 and a delegation from the Secretary for Transport dated 28 August 1996, I, John Gibson Bradbury, General Manager International Relations in the Ministry of Transport, hereby give notice that I have exercised the power conferred by section 87Q of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, to vary the terms of the Scheduled International Air Service Licence issued to Polynesian Limited to authorise the airline to operate additional capacity of up to 50 seats per week between New Zealand and Australia.
This amendment took effect on 1 June 1999.

Airworthiness Directives
Pursuant to section 721(3)(a) of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, and to a delegation from the Director of Civil Aviation, I, Geoffrey Neil Connor, Safety Analyst – Continuing Airworthiness, hereby issue the following airworthiness directives in respect of aircraft or aeronautical products:

These airworthiness directives shall come into force on 10 June 1999.
DCA/CESS402/20
This airworthiness directive shall come into force on 21 June 1999.
These airworthiness directives may be viewed on the CAA website (www.caa.govt.nz) or at Aviation House, 1 Market Grove, Lower Hutt.

Summary of Exemptions Granted by the Director of Civil Aviation
Pursuant to section 37 of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, notification is hereby given of a summary of an exemption, set out in the Schedule hereto, granted by the Director of Civil Aviation.

99/EXE/24 – CAR 61.5 (a)
On 27 May 1999. To Ricky John Lucas and Gary Allen Mahoney, being employees of Rick Lucas Helicopters Limited and holding Commercial Pilot Licences (Helicopter). From the requirement in Civil Aviation Rule 61.5 (a) (1), only while acting as pilot-in-command of a Sikorsky S61R helicopter when carrying out VFR external load operations for hire or reward, provided that Ricky John Lucas and Gary Allen Mahoney continue to hold a current CPL(H).
This exemption shall apply until 29 February 2000 or until withdrawn in writing by the director, whichever occurs first.
