Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990
Exemption From Specified Requirements of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990
Pursuant to regulation 36 of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990, I, Martyn Jacob de Liefde, Vehicle Compliance Officer, hereby exempt the motor vehicle specified in Schedule 1 of this notice from the requirements of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990 listed in Schedule 2, subject to the conditions specified in Schedule 3.

Conditions
(i) The items specified in Schedule 2 must be in sound condition and good working order;
(ii)
(a) The vehicle manufacturer’s original equipment seatbelts are fitted to the front seat positions;
(b) Two-point lap seat belts that comply with the appropriate vehicle standard are fitted in the rear outboard sitting positions;
(c) All other sitting positions are fitted with the seat belts required by regulation 29;
(iii) All seat belts must be securely anchored to the vehicle and seat belt anchorages that are not the vehicle manufacturer’s original equipment must comply with Specification St 120395;
(iv) This exemption may be revoked at any time;
(v) A copy of this notice must be carried in the vehicle at all times and be readily available for inspection.

Declaring State Highway to Be Limited Access Road: Waikato and Bay of Plenty
It is notified that Transit New Zealand, by resolution dated 5 May 1999 and pursuant to section 88 (1) of the Transit New Zealand Act 1989, hereby declares the parts of State highway described in the following Schedule and, as more particularly shown on Plans LA 23/39/1, LA 20/54/1, LR/69, LA 25/126/2 and LA 23/1567/3 and accompanying Schedules held in the office of the Regional State Highway Manager, Transit New Zealand, Hamilton and there available for public inspection, to be limited access road.

In Whakatane District, that section of State Highway No. 2 commencing at the Western Bay of Plenty/Whakatane District Boundary (Route Position 209/0.00) and proceeding generally in an easterly direction to the Matata Underpass (Route Position 209/13.79); a distance of 13.79 kilometres.

Near Tirau, that section of State Highway No. 5 commencing at the State Highway 1/5 Intersection (Route Position 0/0.00) and proceeding in a generally easterly direction to Waimakariri Stream Bridge West Abutment (Route Position 5/1.39); a distance of 6.54 kilometres.

Near Tirau, that section of State Highway No. 28 commencing at Brown Road (Route Position 170/0.00) and proceeding generally in a north-easterly direction to the State Highway 28/29 Intersection (Route Position 17/7.17); a distance of 7.17 kilometres.

Near Hinchcliff in Whakatane District, that section of State Highway No. 30 commencing at Tamatea Street (at Route Position 170/5.99) and proceeding generally in an easterly direction to Kawerau West Loop Road (Route Position 187/7.10); a distance of 18.84 kilometres.
