Joint Family Homes Act 1964

The under-mentioned persons have applied under the Joint Family Homes Act 1964, to register as a joint family home the land described below.

Eric George Downing Trust

Application to Approve Scheme Relating to Certain Charitable Trusts Contained in the Will of the Late Eric George Downing

One part of Eric George Downing’s residuary estate was left for the Medical Research Council of New Zealand. This gift is unable to be carried out.

A scheme has been prepared, proposing that the gift be divided in equal shares between the Canterbury Medical Research Foundation and the Health Research Council of New Zealand for the purpose of research for the benefit of aged people in Canterbury.

An application to approve the scheme will be heard in the High Court in Christchurch on the 29th day of June 1999.

Any person desiring to oppose this scheme shall give written notice of their intention to do so to the Registrar, the Attorney-General and the trustees, Parry Field, Solicitors, P.O. Box 1725, Christchurch (Solicitor Acting: Lois J. Flanagan), not less than 7 clear days before that date.
