Definition of Areas
Area A (Paradise Shelduck, Black Swan and Canada Geese): That area east and south of the system of roads commonly called the 'Line Road', which, from the south is SH No 77 to the Rakaia Gorge and east and north to SH No 73, thence along SH 73 to the Waimakariri Gorge Road junction, and thence along the Waimakariri Gorge - Depot Gorge - Oxford Rangiora - Rangiora/Woodend Roads to SH No. 1, and south of Woodend Beach Road.
Area B (Paradise Shelduck, Black Swan and Canada Geese) The remainder of the Region excluding "Area A"
Shooting hours
6.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. or any period within these hours, except that during the period 1 June 1999 to 30 April 2000 inclusive, Canada Geese may be hunted or killed 24 hours per day during the specified open season.
Decoy limit
Duck decoys
(a) 1 May to 9 May, both days inclusive, no person, or persons sharing a stand, shall use more than 30 duck decoys. No duck decoys shall be placed within 50 metres of those placed by any other hunter.
(b) Rest of open season - no limit
Goose, Black Swan and all other game species: No limit
