Cancellation of Licence for an Early Childhood Centre

Pursuant to regulation 12 of the Education (Early Childhood Centres) Regulations 1998, and acting under authority delegated by the Secretary for Education, I hereby cancel the licence dated 23 June 1993, which was granted under those regulations to Beryl Te Moananui in respect of:

TKR O Rangimaria Ki Mangere (25243), situated at 24 Ben Lora Place, Mangere, Auckland.

The centre has ceased to operate.

This notice shall take effect the day after the date of its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

Cancellation of Licence for an Early Childhood Centre

The centre has merged with another centre.

Fisheries (South Island Customary Fishing) Regulations 1998

Fisheries (South Island Customary Fishing) Notice (No. 10) 1999 (No. F112)

Pursuant to regulation 9 of the Fisheries (South Island Customary Fishing) Regulations 1998, the Associate Minister for Food, Fibre, Biosecurity and Border Control hereby gives the following notice.

Notice

1. Title and commencement—(1) This notice may be cited as the Fisheries (South Island Customary Fishing) Notice 1999.

(2) This notice shall come into effect the day after the date of its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

2. Interpretation—In this notice:

(a) The term “Customary food gathering” has the same meaning as defined in the Fisheries (South Island Customary Fishing) Regulations 1998;

(b) Any reference to “Tangata Tiaki/Kaitiaki” means the person or persons appointed under regulation 9 of the Fisheries (South Island Customary Fishing) Regulations 1998 as Tangata Tiaki/Kaitiaki for a general customary food gathering area/rohe moana and confirmed in clause 4 of this notice;

(c) Any reference to area/rohe moana means the area from the mouth of the Waitaki River to the mouth of the Pareora River, extending seaward to the limit of the South Island fisheries waters as defined under regulation 2 of the Fisheries (South Island Customary Fishing) Regulations 1998, being the 200 mile limit, and inland to the boundaries defined for Te Runanga o Waihao under the First Schedule of Te Runanga o Ngai Tahu Act 1996.

3. Nomination of Tangata Tiaki/Kaitiaki—Te Runanga o Waihao, being the Tangata whenua holding manawhenua manamoana over the area/rohe moana, have nominated Graeme Robert Lane, Graeme David Thomas, Tamati Iti Rawa Te Maiharao, Parris Heath and Margaret Te Maiharao as Tangata Tiaki/Kaitiaki for the area/rohe moana.

4. Appointment of Tangata Tiaki/Kaitiaki—The Associate Minister for Food, Fibre, Biosecurity and Border Control hereby confirms the appointment of Graeme Robert Lane, Graeme David Thomas, Tamati Iti Rawa Te Maiharao, Parris Heath and Margaret Te Maiharao as Tangata Tiaki/Kaitiaki for managing customary food gathering for the area/rohe moana. The appointment is for a term of 5 years commencing the day this notice comes into effect.

5. Power to authorise taking of fisheries resources for customary food gathering—The Tangata Tiaki/Kaitiaki may authorise any individual to take fisheries resources managed under the Fisheries Acts 1983 and 1996 for customary food gathering from the area/rohe moana.
