Pursuant to section 119 of the Law Practitioners Act 1982, notice is hereby given that on the 5th day of October 1998, the New Zealand Law Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal ordered as follows:

1. That the name of Norman Bruce Smith be struck off the roll of barristers and solicitors of the High Court of New Zealand.

2. That Norman Bruce Smith pay to the Auckland Law Society the sum of $11,372.88 towards the costs and expenses of the inquiry by this tribunal;

3. That Norman Bruce Smith pay to the New Zealand Law Society the sum of $2,858.00 towards the costs and expenses of the inquiry by this tribunal.

Pursuant to regulation 12 of the Education (Early Childhood Centres) Regulations 1998, and acting under authority delegated by the Secretary for Education, I hereby cancel the licence dated 16 July 1998, which was granted under those regulations to Rhondda Tannock in respect of:

Park Avenue Childcare Centre (20129), situated at 22 Park Avenue, Grafton Road, Auckland.

The centre has ceased to operate.

Qualifications Recognised by the Secretary for Education For the Purposes of the Education (Early Childhood Centres) Regulations 1998

Pursuant to regulation 38 (1) of the Education (Early Childhood Centres) Regulations 1998, the Secretary for Education recognises, for the purposes of those regulations, the following qualifications:

• National Diploma of Teaching (ECE).
• Bachelor of Education (TEACHING) (ECE).

This notice shall come into force on the 1st day of March 1999.
