Notice of Intention to Take Land for the Widening of Green Lane West at Cornwall Park in Auckland City

Notice is hereby given that The Auckland City Council, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1981, intends to take those parts of the land described in the Schedule hereto, marked “A” and “B” on S.O. Plan 69530 for road, to be used for the widening of Green Lane West at Cornwall Park.

The reasons why The Auckland City Council considers it is reasonably necessary to take the interest in the land are as follows:

(a) the existing road has for a number of years experienced very high traffic volumes and by widening Green Lane West for the purpose of forming a left turning slipway into Cornwall Park quicker, and safer traffic flows will be facilitated; and

(b) the taking is considered reasonably necessary for the safe and convenient use of Green Lane West and in particular to enable safer and easier access to the Showgrounds site situated in Cornwall Park.

Any person having an interest or estate in the land may, within 20 working days after the date of publication of this notice, send an objection to the Registrar, Environment Court, Fifth Floor, 49 Ballance Street (P.O. Box 5027), Lambton Quay, Wellington.

If any objection is made in accordance with this notice, a public hearing will be held unless the objector otherwise requires and each objector will be informed of the time and place of the hearing.

North Auckland Land District

An estate in fee simple in all that parcel of land containing 8.3165 hectares, more or less, being Lot 1, Deposited Plan 102440 and being part Allotments 19 and 21 of Section 11, Suburbs of Auckland and part Allotments 8 and 8A of Section 12, Suburbs of Auckland, being all of the land comprised and described in certificate of title 56C/300 (North Auckland Registry).
