Notice of Application for Promoter’s Licence
In the District Court at Auckland
In the matter of Part V of the Gaming and Lotteries Act 1977, and in the matter of an application for a promoter’s licence under that Part V by Independent News Auckland Limited, a duly incorporated company having its registered office at NZI House, 25–33 Victoria Street, Wellington—Applicant:
Take notice that Independent News Auckland Limited of NZI House, 25–33 Victoria Street, Wellington, has applied to the District Court at Auckland for a licence under the above Act to carry on business as a licensed promoter under the name of Independent News Auckland Limited from premises situated at 155 New North Road, Newton, Auckland.
The application will be heard by the above Court after 1 month from the 21st day of May 1998, being the date of second publication of this notice.
The names of all persons whose character and fitness are relevant to this application may be seen at the office of the above Court.

Pursuant to section 13 of the Citizens Initiated Referenda Act 1993, I hereby give notice:
That Mr Frederick Richards
- has been approved to use, for the purposes of an indicative referendum petition, the wording determined in the paragraph below;
- is the promoter of the indicative referendum petition in which the wording determined in the paragraph below is to be used;
- has been approved to use a form for the purposes of the indicative referendum petition; and
That the wording of the specific question to be put to voters in the proposed indicative referendum is—
“Should Members of Parliament be elected by single transferable vote (STV) with constituency-based, multi-member electorates?”

Notice of Intention to Promote Private Bill
Notice is hereby given that The Museum of Transport and Technology of New Zealand Trust Board (called “the promoter”), intends to promote for consideration by the House of Representatives a Private Bill under the short title of the “Museum of Transport and Technology Act 1998”.
The objects of the Bill are to:
(a) Establish a Museum of Transport and Technology Board to govern the museum, with 5 appointees of Auckland territorial local authorities and 5 appointees of the Museum of Transport and Technology Society.
(b) Establish clear and appropriate statutory objectives and duties, functions and powers of the board.
(c) Provide for an annual plan and a statutory process to prepare this, in consultation with Auckland local authorities, the MOTAT Society, and the public.
