Matters at Full Assessment
The authority has developed the following proposals and will now make a full assessment of them:
Frozen and Ice Confection (P171). A proposal to review current regulations for frozen and ice confection.
Confectionery (P172). A proposal to review current regulations for confectionery.
Cocoa and cocoa products (P173). A proposal to review current regulations for cocoa and cocoa products.
Sauces, chutneys and pickles (P174). A proposal to review current regulations for sauces, chutneys and pickles.
You are invited to present written submissions to the authority on matters relevant to these proposals, including the potential regulatory impact on consumers, industry and Government, by 19 June 1998. The information papers on these matters provide further information, including advice on the authority’s policy regarding submissions.
Matters at Inquiry
The authority will conduct an inquiry into the draft standards or variations to standards prepared at full assessment of the following application:
Use of erythritol (A350). An application from Cerestar Holding BV, Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation and Nikken Chemicals Company Limited to permit the addition of erythritol to food.
You are invited to present written submissions to the authority on matters relevant to this inquiry, including the potential regulatory impact on consumers, industry and Government, by 5 June 1998. The information paper on this matter provides further information, including advice on the authority’s policy regarding submissions.

Notice of Result on Loan Proposal South Beach/Paroa Water Loan
The Local Authorities Loans Act 1956
Pursuant to section 38 of the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, notice is hereby given that a poll of the South Beach/Paroa Water Supply Area taken on Wednesday, 8 April 1998, on the proposal of the above-named local authority to raise a loan of $600,000 to be known as the South Beach/Paroa Water Supply Loan 1998 for the purpose of providing a reticulated water supply resulted in the following:
The number of votes recorded FOR the proposal was 70
The number of votes recorded AGAINST the proposal was 51
The number of INFORMAL votes was NIL
I therefore declare that the proposal was CARRIED.

Pursuant to section 38 of the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, notice is hereby given that a poll of the South Beach/Paroa Urban Drainage Area taken on Wednesday, 8 April 1998, on the proposal of the above-named local authority to raise a loan of $1.75 million to be known as the South Beach/Paroa Sewerage Loan 1998 for the purpose of providing a reticulated sewerage scheme resulted in the following:
The number of votes recorded FOR the proposal was 66
The number of votes recorded AGAINST the proposal was 47
The number of INFORMAL votes was NIL
I therefore declare that the proposal was CARRIED.
