(b) in sound condition and good working order; and
(c) unmodified;

(ii) This exemption may be revoked at any time; and

(iii) A copy of this notice must be carried in the vehicle at all times and be readily available for inspection.

Temporary Warning Signs

Pursuant to regulation 129 (6) of the Traffic Regulations, and an instrument of subdelegation by the Director of Land Transport dated the 18th day of December 1996, I, John Paul Edgar, Manager, Safer Roads and Rail, approve the erection, installation and maintenance of Temporary Warning Signs, as described in the Schedule for the control of traffic by a person authorised by regulation 124 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976.

Schedule

1. Description of Traffic Sign

In this Schedule the “ACCIDENT” or “EMERGENCY” or “FIRE” temporary warning sign must be in accordance with the following:

  1. Shape and Size:
    a) “ACCIDENT” or “FIRE” sign:
    Be rectangular, not less than 850 mm wide and 250 mm high, and sufficient to accommodate the legend.
    b) “EMERGENCY” sign:
    Be rectangular, not less than 1000 mm wide and 250 mm high, and sufficient to accommodate the legend.

  2. Background Colour:
    Orange reflectorised background.

  3. Border:
    Black border 20 mm wide.

  4. Lettering:
    Contain the word “ACCIDENT” or “EMERGENCY” or “FIRE” to convey the warning to traffic in letters. The letters must be black, not smaller than 100 mm height and 16 mm stroke width, and conform with series D lettering as specified in Australian Standard AS1744 Standard alphabets for road signs.

Declaration of Vehicle With Motorcycle Controls to be a Motorcycle

Pursuant to section 2 (1) of the Transport Act 1962, and pursuant to an authority delegated to me by way of instrument of delegation dated 23 December 1996, I, Barry Edward Crocker, Vehicle Compliance Officer, hereby declare that the vehicle described in the Schedule hereto is a motorcycle for the purposes of the Act and any regulations under this Act.

The three-wheeled vehicle with motorcycle controls bearing the Vehicle Identification Number 7A8J40M1198315945 and owned by Mr P. Herekaka of Ohara Street, Invercargill.
