-- The Christchurch Womens' Refuge Incorporated, Christchurch

and such proportions are payable in such manner as the trustee shall decide for the benefit of young women whether married or unmarried then residing in the Canterbury geographical region who have had their first child during a period of accommodation based care provided or organised by these organisations, such assistance to be provided at the time the woman leave such accommodation based care provided that if any of the above organisations shall cease to exist or change their objects or discontinue their present services (such to be determined by the trustee in his absolute discretion) then such organisation(s) shall be deleted from the second category.

(iii) To organisations in the Canterbury geographical region, who upon application to the trustee shall satisfy him that their clients have a requirement to assistance from the trust.

The approval of the High Court in Christchurch to the scheme was given on the 7th day of June 1996 and the 15th day of April 1997.

Notice of Application for Approval of a Scheme

Under the Charitable Trusts Act 1957

In the matter of an application by the trustees of the New Zealand School of Dance, being a charitable trust established under the Charitable Trusts Act, to vary its trust deed:

Take notice that on Monday, the 4th day of May 1998 at 10.00 a.m., the trustees of the New Zealand School of Dance will apply to the High Court at Wellington for orders approving a scheme varying its trust deed.

The trustees seek to vary the provisions of the trust deed to facilitate the carrying out of objects of the trust by:

  1. Broadening the objects of the trust to reflect the change of curriculum and activities of the New Zealand School of Dance.

  2. Introducing a provision enabling the trustees to alter the trust deed, provided that the charitable nature of the trust’s objects is not prejudiced.

  3. Broadening the trustees’ powers to enable the trustees to better manage the affairs of the trust and in particular to enable the trustees to guarantee a commercial bank facility which will fund improved facilities for the New Zealand School of Dance.

A copy of proposed scheme, originating application and supporting affidavit may be inspected at the offices of Chapman Tripp Sheffield Young, Solicitors, Grey Street, Wellington (Attention: J. A. McClure).

Any person desiring to oppose the scheme should give a written notice of his or her intention to do so, to:

  1. The Registrar of the High Court at Wellington; and

  2. The board of trustees of the New Zealand School of Dance, care of Chapman Tripp Sheffield Young, Solicitors, Grey Street (P.O. Box 993), Wellington (Attention: J. A. McClure);

  3. The Attorney General, care of the Crown Law Office, 45 Pipitea Street (P.O. Box 5012), Wellington (Attention: T. L. Lamb).
