(a) The applicant is to reside in New Zealand, either permanently or temporarily; and
(b) (i) The applicant is the holder of a certificate of a corresponding class granted outside New Zealand and the standard of training; and assessment required for the grant of the overseas certificate is equivalent to that required for the grant of a certificate under regulations made under the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992; or under the
(ii) The applicant is the holder of credentials that clearly demonstrate his or her mining experience outside New Zealand and his or her ability to carry out the position to which the certificate pertains; and the duties of the position to which the certificate pertains;
(c) The applicant has provided a letter from their present employer, or immediate previous employer if not currently employed, that they are of good character and repute; and
(d) The applicant is able to speak, write and understand the English language sufficiently for the purpose of carrying out the duties to which the certificate of competence pertains.

Civil Aviation Act 1990
Notice of Intent to Consider Varying a Scheduled International Air Service Licence
Pursuant to section 87(3) of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, I give notice that, having received an application from Air New Zealand Limited, the Minister of Transport intends to consider varying the international air services licence held by that airline to provide for, in respect of Japan, the operation of 2 services per week to Nagoya and Fukuoka on a co-terminal basis.
Any person or organisation wishing to make representations relating to this proposal must forward those representations in writing to reach me at the Ministry of Transport, P.O. Box 3175, Wellington, on or before the 19th day of April 1998.

Notification of Ordinary Rules
Pursuant to section 34 of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, notification is hereby given of the ordinary rules, set out in the Schedule hereto, which rules shall come into force as stated in the Schedule.

Civil Aviation Rules Part 1: Definitions and Abbreviations, Amendment 12, which shall come into force on 23 April 1998.
Civil Aviation Rules Part 91: General Operating and Flight Rules, Amendment 4, which shall come into force on 23 April 1998.
Civil Aviation Rules Part 119: Air Transport Operator - Certification, Amendment 1, which shall come into force on 23 April 1998.
Civil Aviation Rules Part 121: Air Transport Operations - Large Aeroplanes, Amendment 3, which shall come into force on 23 April 1998.
Civil Aviation Rules Part 135: Air Transport Operations - Helicopters and Small Aeroplanes, Amendment 4, which shall come into force on 23 April 1998.
These ordinary rules will be available for inspection at the Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand, 1 Market Grove (P.O. Box 31-441), Lower Hutt.
