Requirement for Certificate—Foreign Air Transport Operation—HeavyLift Cargo Airlines Limited

REF: 98/EXE/120

The director granted an exemption to HeavyLift Cargo Airlines Limited, London Stansted Airport, United Kingdom, from the requirement of rule 129.5 (a) that no person shall perform a foreign air transport operation except under the authority of, and in accordance with a foreign air operator certificate issued under Part 129; provided that

(a) the aircraft operated by HeavyLift Cargo Airlines Limited for the foreign air transport operation is Antonov AN 124-100, Russian registration RA 82042; and

(b) HeavyLift Cargo Airlines Limited carries out the foreign air transport operation under the authority of an Air Operator’s Certificate issued by the United Kingdom and in accordance with the operator’s specifications; and

(c) the foreign air transport operation is restricted to that necessary for the delivery of power generators to relieve the electricity supply crisis in Auckland.

This exemption shall apply until 31 March 1998.

Summary of Exemptions Granted by the Director of Civil Aviation

Pursuant to section 37 of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, notification is hereby given of exemptions, set out in the Schedule hereto, granted by the Director of Civil Aviation.

REF: 98/EXE/121, on the 27th day of February 1998, to Miller Helicopter Services Limited, being the holder of the certificate of registration for the McDonnell Douglas 500D helicopter, ZK-HJQ, from the requirement of Civil Aviation Rule 47.101 (a) that each aircraft bear a registration mark in the manner, and in accordance with, the specifications prescribed in 47.109 to 47.119.

REF: 98/EXE/122, on the 27th day of February 1998, to HeavyLift Cargo Airlines Limited, London Stansted Airport, United Kingdom, from the requirement of rule 129.5 (a) that no person shall perform a foreign air transport operation except under the authority of, and in accordance with a foreign air operator certificate issued under Part 129; provided that

(a) the aircraft operated by HeavyLift Cargo Airlines Limited for the foreign air transport operation is IL76TD, Russian registration RA 76842; and

(b) HeavyLift Cargo Airlines Limited carries out the foreign air transport operation under the authority of an Air Operator’s Certificate issued by the United Kingdom and in accordance with the operator’s specifications; and

(c) the foreign air transport operation is restricted to that necessary for the delivery of power generators to relieve the electricity supply crisis in Auckland.

This exemption shall apply until 31 March 1998.

Pursuant to sections 52 (1) and 52 (3) of the Transport Act 1962, and to an authority sub-delegated to me by the Director of Land Transport Safety dated 23 February 1998, I, Peter Michael Cleal, Acting Manager, Safer Roads, give the following notice:

Notice

(1) This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Marlborough District) Notice 1998.

(2) The following parts of the Traffic (Marlborough District) Notice No. 1, 1992* are revoked:

Those parts listed in the First Schedule, Third Schedule and Fourth Schedule which pertain to the First Schedule below.

(3) That road specified in the Second Schedule is declared to be a closely populated locality at all times for the purposes of section 52 (1) (c) of the Transport Act 1962.

First Schedule

Situated within Marlborough District at Rai Valley:

No. 6 State Highway (Blenheim-Invercargill via Nelson and Greymouth): From a point 20 metres measured southerly, generally, along the said highway from the Alfred Stream Bridge, to a point 40 metres measured northerly, generally, along the said highway from the Rai Township Bridge.

Situated within Marlborough District at Riverlands:

No. 1 State Highway (Awatere-Bluff): From a point 480 metres measured northerly, generally, along the said highway from Alabama Road to a point 100 metres measured south-easterly, generally, along the said highway from Alabama Road.

Situated within Marlborough District at Seddon:

No. 1 State Highway (Awatere-Bluff): From the junction of the said State highway with Fearon Street, to the junction of the said State highway with Marama Road.

Situated within Marlborough District at Spring Creek:

No. 1 State Highway (Awatere-Bluff): From a point 280 metres measured northerly, generally, along the said highway from Ferry Road to a point 200 metres measured southerly, generally, along the said highway from Ferry Road.

Situated within Marlborough District at Tuamarina:

No. 1 State Highway (Awatere-Bluff): From the junction with the Tuamarina Track (Bush Road) to a point...
