Dumping and Countervailing Duties Act 1988
Notice of Initiation of New Exporter Duty Reassessment for Lead Acid Batteries From Malaysia
Pursuant to section 14 (6) of the Dumping and Countervailing Duties Act 1988 (“the Act”), and under delegated authority from the Secretary of Commerce, I hereby give notice that I have initiated a reassessment of the amount of anti-dumping duty in respect of imports into New Zealand of the goods described in the Schedule.

Goods Subject to Investigation
Lead acid automotive replacement batteries for the passenger motor vehicle market and marine applications (excluding DIN batteries and deep cycle marine batteries) when manufactured by Automotive Battery Industries Sdn Bhd (ABI).
Country of Origin
Malaysia.
Description of Goods
The goods are currently classified under Tariff Items and Statistical Keys 8507.10.09.01C, 8507.10.09.12I, 8507.10.09.15C, 8507.10.09.19F and 8507.10.09.29C of the Tariff of New Zealand, which classification is provided for convenience and Customs purposes only, the written description being dispositive.
