Merger of Hokonui School and Browns School

Pursuant to section 156A of the Education Act 1989, I hereby declare that Hokonui School (3965) and Browns School (3935) will merge on 19 April 1999 and become a full primary school. Browns School will be the continuing school.

Dissolution of Board of Trustees and Appointment of Commissioner at Kaihu Valley School

Pursuant to section 106 (1) (aa) of the Education Act 1989, for the reason that so many casual vacancies have arisen that there is no longer any member of the board who is eligible to preside at meetings of the board, and acting under delegated authority, I hereby dissolve the Kaihu Valley School Board of Trustees and appoint

Mr Peter R. King

as commissioner to act in its place.

Education (Early Childhood Centres) Regulations 1990

Cancellation of Licence for an Early Childhood Centre

Pursuant to regulation 12 of the Education (Early Childhood Centres) Regulations 1998, and acting under authority delegated by the Secretary for Education, I hereby cancel the licence dated 30 July 1998, which was granted under those regulations to Barbara Hickman in respect of:

Albany Community Pre-School (20002), situated at the corner of Main and Oteha Valley Roads, Albany.

The centre has relocated.

This notice shall take effect the day after the date of its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

Cancellation of Licence for an Early Childhood Centre

Pursuant to regulation 12 of the Education (Early Childhood Centres) Regulations 1998, and acting under authority delegated by the Secretary for Education, I hereby cancel the licence dated 19 September 1998, which was granted under those regulations to Ewhi Hine Kora in respect of:

Tauanui Te Kohanga Reo (40182), situated at Tauanui Marae, Hodges Road, Waimana.

The centre has moved premises.

Notice of Public Ruling

1. This is a notice of a public ruling made under section 91D of the Tax Administration Act 1994.

2. Public ruling No. 98/7 entitled "Easements – deductibility of the costs of preparation, stamping, and registration" will appear in Inland Revenue's Tax Information Bulletin, Vol. 10, No. 12 of December 1998.
