Pursuant to section 4 of the Business Development Boards Act 1991, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

Order

  1. Title and commencement—(1) This order may be cited as the Business Development Boards (Dissolution and Establishment) Order 1998.

(2) This order comes into force on 31 December 1998.

  1. Business Development Boards dissolved—The following business development boards are dissolved at midnight on 31 December 1998:

(a) Aorangi Business Development Board;

(b) Auckland Business Development Board;

(c) Bay of Plenty Business Development Board;

(d) Canterbury Business Development Board;

(e) East Coast Business Development Board;

(f) Hawke’s Bay Business Development Board;

(g) Kapiti/Horowhenua Business Development Board;

(h) King Country Business Development Board;

(i) Manawatu Business Development Board;

(j) Marlborough Business Development Board;

(k) Nelson Bays Business Development Board;

(l) Otago Business Development Board;

(m) Southland Business Development Board;

(n) Tai Tokerau Business Development Board;

(o) Taranaki Business Development Board;

(p) Thames Valley-Coromandel Business Development Board;

(q) Waikato Business Development Board;

(r) Wairarapa Business Development Board;

(s) Wanganui Business Development Board;

(t) Wellington Business Development Board;

(u) West Coast Business Development Board.

  1. Assets of boards revert to the Crown—On the dissolution of a business development board under clause 2, all funds and assets belonging to, or subsisting in, a business development board immediately before the dissolution of the business development board revert to and become the funds and assets of Her Majesty the Queen.

  2. Business Development Boards Order 1991 revoked—The Business Development Boards Order 1991 (New Zealand Gazette, 19 December 1991, page 3932) is revoked with effect from midnight on 31 December 1998.

  3. New Business Development Board established—

(1) The New Zealand Business Development Board is established on 1 January 1999.

(2) The region for which the New Zealand Business Development Board is established comprises all of New Zealand.

Explanatory Note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This order dissolves the business development boards listed in clause 2 with effect from 31 December 1998 and establishes a new board, to be called the New Zealand Business Development Board, with effect from 1 January 1999. The order also provides for the assets and funds of the dissolved boards to revert to the Crown upon the dissolution of the boards listed in clause 2.

Pursuant to section 84 (2) of the Criminal Justice Act 1985, an order was made in the District Court at Christchurch on the 18th day of November 1998, against Pamela Inez Morgan for the confiscation of the following motor vehicle:

Mitsubishi Galant, registration No. DA 3536.

Pursuant to section 84 (2) of the Criminal Justice Act 1985, an order was made in the District Court at Christchurch on the 24th day of November 1998, against Kenneth Gilchrist McNicoll for the confiscation of the following motor vehicle:

Mazda XR 500A, registration No. 76 TME.
