Airworthiness Directives
Pursuant to section 72(1)(a) of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, and to a delegation from the Director of Civil Aviation, I, Geoffrey Neil Connor, Safety Analyst – Continuing Airworthiness, hereby issue the following airworthiness directives in respect of aircraft or aeronautical products:

This airworthiness directive shall come into force on 19 November 1998.

These airworthiness directives shall come into force on 20 November 1998.

Summary of Exemptions Granted by the Director of Civil Aviation
Pursuant to section 37 of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, notification is hereby given of a summary of an exemption, set out in the Schedule hereto, granted by the Director of Civil Aviation.

Docket 98/EXE/123
On 5 November 1998. To Millicer Aircraft Industries Pty Ltd, being the applicant for the grant of a type certificate. From the requirement in Civil Aviation Rule 21.15 that an applicable design organisation certificate issued under Part 146 must be held by the applicant for the grant of a type certificate for a product type, only in respect of applications for the grant of the following type certificates—
- New Zealand type certificate A-4 for the Airtourer 100 & 115
- New Zealand type certificate A-7 for the Airtourer 150, Super 150 & T-3A
- New Zealand type certificate A-8 for the Airtourer T-6.

On 20 October 1998. To each holder of an air operator certificate issued under Part 119 for operations performed under Part 121. From the requirement in Civil Aviation Rule 121.71 (h) (2) that each holder of an air operator certificate issued under Part 119 shall ensure that any aeroplane does not use a runway for the purpose of landing at or taking-off from unless the minimum runway strip width for the runway used is determined by reference to Table 3 of Appendix C of Part 121, only in respect of a code number 3 or 4 precision instrument approach runway at Dunedin Aerodrome, provided that the ILS minima is not reduced below the existing 300 feet.

On 11 November 1998. To James Schmidt Investment Trust, being the holder of the certificate of registration for A.V. Roe and Company Limited 631 Cadet aircraft, serial number 730, registration ZK-AVR. From the requirement in Civil Aviation Rule 47.101 (a) that each holder of a New Zealand certificate of registration shall ensure the aircraft bears a registration mark in the manner, and in accordance with, the specifications prescribed in 47.109 to 47.119 inclusive.
Notice of the grant, withdrawal or denial of exemptions with provisos are published in the Civil Aviation Rules Register Information Leaflet (CARRIL). For the proviso, refer to issues dated 21 October 1998 and 19 November 1998. The CARRIL is available on the CAA website [www.caa.govt.nz]. Exemption files may also be viewed on prior request to the Registrar at the office of the Civil Aviation Authority, 1 Market Grove (P.O. Box 31-441), Lower Hutt.
