Airworthiness Directive
Pursuant to section 72I (3) (a) of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, and to a delegation from the Director of Civil Aviation, I, Geoffrey Neil Connor, Safety Analyst – Continuing Airworthiness, hereby issue the following airworthiness directives in respect of aircraft or aeronautical products:

These airworthiness directives shall come into force on 5 November 1998.
These airworthiness directives may be viewed on the CAA website www.caa.govt.nz or at Aviation House, 1 Market Grove, Lower Hutt.

Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990
Alternative Standard for Modified Production Vehicles and Scratch-Built Vehicles Under the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990
Pursuant to regulation 6 of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990, I, Jörg Simon Mager, Senior Engineer, hereby prescribe the Low Volume Vehicle Code (November 1998) of the Low Volume Vehicle Technical Association Incorporated as an alternative standard to the vehicle standards specified in the Second Schedule to the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990 (and any amendments thereto) for all items listed in that Schedule, in respect of modified production vehicles and scratch-built vehicles as defined in the Low Volume Vehicle Code (November 1998) of the Low Volume Vehicle Technical Association Incorporated.
The following notice in the New Zealand Gazette is hereby revoked:
Gazette No. 178, 18 December 1997, page 4267, au9165.
For the avoidance of doubt, the following notices in the New Zealand Gazette remain revoked:
Gazette No. 191, 1 November 1990, page 4194, go12005, and
Gazette No. 8, 21 January 1993, page 143, go564.
[Explanatory Note: The Low Volume Vehicle Code (November 1998) of the Low Volume Vehicle Technical Association Incorporated is incorporated by reference in the Land Transport Rules relating to vehicle standards made under the Land Transport Act 1993.]

Water Recreation Regulations 1979
The Water Recreation (Rangitata River Mouth) Notice 1998
I, John Norman Keith Mansell, Divisional Manager, Maritime Operations, pursuant to regulations 10 and 20 of the Water Recreation Regulations 1979*, and in exercise of powers delegated to me, pursuant to section 257A of the Harbours Act 1950 and section 443 of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, hereby give the following notice:

- (a) This notice may be cited as the Water Recreation (Rangitata River Mouth) Notice 1998.
(b) This notice shall come into force 14 days after publication in the New Zealand Gazette and shall remain in force until revoked by further notice in the New Zealand Gazette.

An area measuring 30 metres in width connecting, by the shortest direct route, the launch site indicated by a notice board and demarcated by orange posts with horizontal black bands on the south bank of the Rangitata River and the area described in item 1 of the First Schedule is designated an access lane for the purposes of the Water Recreation Regulations 1979.

An area measuring 30 metres in width connecting, by the shortest direct route, the launch site indicated by a notice board and demarcated by orange posts with horizontal black bands on the north bank of the Rangitata River and the area described in item 1 of the First Schedule is designated an access land for the purposes of the Water Recreation Regulations 1979.

Subject to the conditions set forth in the Second Schedule hereto, regulations 7 (1) (a), 7 (1) (b) and 7 (2) of the Water Recreation Regulations 1979 shall not apply to the area specified in the First Schedule.
