Notification of Ordinary Rules
Pursuant to section 34 of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, notification is hereby given of the ordinary rules set out in the Schedule hereto which rules shall come into force as stated in the Schedule.
Schedule
Civil Aviation Rules Part 140: Aviation Security Service Organisations – Certification which shall come into force on 2 November 1998.
These ordinary rules are available for inspection at the Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand, 1 Market Grove (P.O. Box 31-441), Lower Hutt.

Civil Aviation Rules
The Minister of Transport intends to make ordinary rules in the following CAR Parts—
Part 135 Review – Air Operator Certification and Operating Rules
– pursuant to section 34 (1) (a) of the Civil Aviation Act 1990. The submission close-off time for the proposed part is 12 October 1998.
Copies of the Notice of Proposed Rule Making are available for viewing at: Aviation House, 1 Market Grove, Lower Hutt and on application to: The Docket Clerk, P.O. Box 31-441, Lower Hutt 6315.
The NPRM is also available on the CAA website @caa.govt.nz

Summary of Exemptions granted by the Director of Civil Aviation
Pursuant to section 37 of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, notification is hereby given of exemptions, set out in the Schedule hereto, granted by the Director of Civil Aviation.
Schedule
Docket 99/EXE/21
On 18 September 1998. To Rural Aviation (1963) Limited, being the holder of a New Zealand certificate of registration for aircraft AS 350 B3, serial number 3097, registration ZK-IWI, from the requirement in Civil Aviation Rule 47.101.
Docket 99/EXE/22
On 17 September 1998. For Boeing 747 and Boeing 767 type aircraft, operated by Air New Zealand Limited on international scheduled operations, from the requirement in Civil Aviation Rule 91.529 (a).
This exemption shall apply until 30 September 1999 or until withdrawn in writing by the director.
Docket 99/EXE/25
On 14 September 1998. To Great Barrier Airlines Flight Operations Limited, from the requirement in Civil Aviation Rule 135.355 only in respect of Britten-Norman BN 2A-27, Registration ZK-CRA.
This exemption shall apply until 31 December 1998 or until withdrawn in writing by the director, whichever occurs first.

On 17 September 1998. To Gary Allen Mahoney of Feilding, being the pilot-in-command of an aircraft operating under VFR, from the requirement in Civil Aviation Rule 91.311 (a) (2), only in respect of one flight to be conducted in an AS 350B helicopter for the purpose of filming Bowen House, Wellington City.
This exemption shall apply until 26 September 1998 or until withdrawn in writing by the Director.

On 18 September 1998. Notice of the grant, withdrawal or denial of exemptions with provisos are published in the Civil Aviation Rules Register Leaflet (CARRIL), issue dated 23 September 1998. The CARRIL is available on the CAA website www.caa.govt.nz. Exemption files may also be viewed on prior request to the Registrar at the office of the Civil Aviation Authority, 1 Market Grove (P.O. Box 31-441), Lower Hutt.
