Airworthiness Directive

Pursuant to section 721(3)(a) of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, and to a delegation from the Director of Civil Aviation, I, Geoffrey Neil Connor, Safety Analyst – Continuing Airworthiness, hereby issue the following airworthiness directives in respect of aircraft or aeronautical products:

Summary of Exemptions Granted by the Director of Civil Aviation

Pursuant to section 37 of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, notification is hereby given of exemptions, set out in the Schedule hereto, granted by the Director of Civil Aviation.

On 20 August 1998, to Brian Denis Dunn of Wellington, being the holder of a New Zealand certificate of registration, from the requirement in Civil Aviation Rule 47.101(a) only in respect of De Havilland DH 92A Tiger Mother aircraft, registration ZK-ASV.

Notice of the grant, withdrawal or denial, of exemptions with provisos are published in the Civil Aviation Rules Register Information Leaflet (CARRIL), issue dated 27 August 1998. The CARRIL is available on the CAA website [www.caa.govt.nz]. Exemption files may also be viewed on prior request to the Registrar at the office of the Civil Aviation Authority, 1 Market Grove (P.O. Box 31-441), Lower Hutt.

Traffic Regulations 1976

Exemption From Specified Requirements of the Traffic Regulations 1976

Pursuant to regulation 90C(1) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, I, Peter Waring, Senior Engineer, hereby approve the LPG fuel system fitted to the motor vehicle specified in Schedule 1 of this notice, subject to the conditions specified within Schedule 2 of this notice.

Conditions

(i) This approval is only valid while the vehicle is owned and operated solely by Mr D. Shadbolt of Christchurch;

(ii) This approval expires 10 years after its date of publication in the New Zealand Gazette.

(iii) This approval may be revoked at any time.

Exemption From Specified Requirements of the Traffic Regulations 1976 and the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990

Pursuant to regulation 90(1) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, and pursuant to regulation 36 of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990, I, James Lindsay Graham Bell, Vehicle Compliance Officer, hereby exempt the motor vehicle specified in Schedule 1 of this notice from the requirements specified in Schedule 2, subject to the conditions specified in Schedule 3.

The notice in the New Zealand Gazette, No. 176 of 5 December 1996, page 4639, titled “Exemption From Specified Requirements of the Traffic Regulations 1976” and referenced as “au7891” is hereby revoked.
