Notice to Te Reo Whakapuaki Irirangi (known as Te Mangai Paho) in Relation to Administration Expenses

To: Te Reo Whakapuaki Irirangi.

Pursuant to section 53M of the Broadcasting Act 1989 (as amended by the Broadcasting Amendment Act 1993), I hereby give you notice that you may spend an additional $133,334 (one hundred and thirty-three thousand, three hundred and thirty-four dollars) excluding G.S.T., or $150,000 (one hundred and fifty thousand dollars) including G.S.T., on account of administrative expenses in the financial year commencing on the 1st day of July 1997 and ending with the close of the 30th day of June 1998.

The total provision for administration available in the 1997/98 year will therefore be $977,778 (nine hundred and seventy-seven thousand seven hundred and seventy-eight dollars) excluding G.S.T. or $1.1 million (one million and one hundred thousand dollars) including G.S.T.

Marine Mammals Protection Regulations 1992

Declaration Notice

Pursuant to regulation 15 of the Marine Mammals Protection Regulations 1992, I, Hugh Francis Malcolm Logan, Director-General of Conservation, hereby give notice that for a period of 3 years from the date of this notice, no new permits for commercial vessel operations to view sperm whales along the Kaikoura Coast (defined here as all those waters between the Clarence River Mouth (173° 56′ east, 42° 10′ south) and the Waiau River Mouth (173° 22′ east, 42° 47′ south) and extending out due east to 25 nautical miles from the shore) shall be granted.

This declaration does not apply for applications to renew existing sperm whale viewing permits for the Kaikoura Coast.

Pursuant to Section 84 (2) of the Criminal Justice Act 1985

On the 16th day of December 1997 at the District Court at Hamilton, Karen Lee Coulshed of 27 Clematis Avenue, Hamilton, was convicted and sentenced to 1 months imprisonment following her conviction by 9 months supervision following her conviction on a charge of driving with excess breath alcohol.
