Farm Education and Training Association Incorporated (trading as Agriculture Industry Training Organisation)
The Board of the Education and Training Support Agency, pursuant to section 5 of the Industry Training Act 1992, hereby gives notice that on Monday, the 21st day of July 1997, the Farm Education and Training Association Incorporated, was granted recognition to extend its coverage as an Industry Training Organisation for the Stock and Station Industry.
In addition to those skill standard setting areas for which the organisation has previously been recognised, it will also set standards on the National Qualifications Framework in the following areas:
Stock and Station, Levels 1–8.
The ITO shall be required to consult with other interested organisations over the setting of skill standards.

Land Transport Safety Authority
Heavy Motor Vehicle Regulations 1974
Approval of the Heavy Vehicle Brake Code Second Edition
Pursuant to regulation 16A (2) of the Heavy Motor Vehicle Regulations 1974, and delegated authority from the Director of Land Transport Safety, by instrument of subdelegation dated 18 December 1996, I, Peter Waring, Senior Policy Engineer, approve the use of the Land Transport Safety Authority’s Heavy Vehicle Brake Code, Second Edition to replace the Ministry of Transport’s First Edition of the Heavy Vehicle Brake Code, as an alternative standard to the Interim Performance Specification for Heavy Vehicle Braking referred to in regulation 16A (1) (b) of the Heavy Motor Vehicle Regulations 1974, for vehicle combinations operating between 39 000 and 44 000 kgs Gross Combined Mass (GCM).
This approval takes effect from the 31st day of August 1997.
The approval to use the Ministry of Transport’s First Edition of the Heavy Vehicle Brake Code is withdrawn.

Approval of Course in Map Reading
Pursuant to section 48 (2) (f) of the Transport (Vehicle and Driver Registration and Licencing) Act 1986, and pursuant to an authority delegated to me by the Director of Land Transport Safety on 23 December 1996, I, John Nicholas Doesburg, Regional Manager (Otago and Southland), hereby approve those courses in map reading conducted by the Clutha Drive School, Balclutha for the purposes of regulation 11 (1) (c) of the Transport (Drivers Licensing) Regulations 1987, and I also approve the Clutha Drive School, Balclutha to conduct those courses.

Exemption From Specified Requirements of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990

(ii) The items specified in Schedule 2 must be in good condition and must not be modified in any way;
(iii) Two point lap seat belts that comply to the appropriate vehicle standard are fitted in all sitting positions;
(iv) All seat belts must be securely anchored to the vehicle and seat belt anchorages that are not the vehicle manufacturer’s original equipment must comply with Specification St 120395;
