Kiwifruit Marketing Regulations 1977

  1. Election of Two Producer Members.

An election is to be held pursuant to the Kiwifruit Marketing Regulations 1977, to elect two producer members to Kiwifruit New Zealand for a term expiring on 31 October 2000. Polling will close at noon on 31 October 1997.

The Kiwifruit New Zealand Electoral Roll has been compiled from the Producers Electoral Registration forms distributed in April. If you have not completed or returned your form you will not be on the roll and therefore ineligible to vote. The final closing date for the registration is from Friday, 8 August 1997.

The electoral roll of producers will be available for inspection during normal office hours from Friday, 30 July 1997 to Friday, 8 August 1997, at the following places:
Crop & Food Research office in Levin, Fruitfed Supplies Limited offices in Gisborne, Waipapa, Kerikeri, Katikati, Te Puke, Whangarei, Waikato and Hastings, Kiwifruit New Zealand office in Mount Maunganui and Zespri International offices in Auckland and Nelson, New Zealand Fruitgrowers’ Federation office in Wellington and Eastpack Limited office in Whakatane.

No amendments can be made to the roll after Friday, 8 August 1997.

  1. Nominations of Candidates.

Nominations open on Friday, 15 August 1997 and close at noon Friday, 5 September 1997. Please send nominations to the Returning Officer, Kiwifruit New Zealand, P.O. Box 9906, Auckland (nomination forms will be available from all Kiwifruit New Zealand and Zespri International offices from 15 August 1997).

The regulations require that all nominees:

(a) Have their name on the electoral roll;

(b) Are nominated in writing by two or more producers who appear on the roll as producers of at least 5000 export trays each in the 1997 season;

(c) Accept nomination in writing; and

(d) Pay to the Returning Officer an amount of $112.50 ($100.00 plus $12.50 G.S.T).

Notice of Intention to Consider Varying an International Air Service Licence

Pursuant to section 87I (3) of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, I give notice that, having received an application from Air New Zealand Limited, the Minister of Transport intends to consider varying the international air service licence held by that airline with respect to Fiji and Japan to permit the airline to carry on services to Osaka via Nadi, and with respect to the United States of America to permit the airline to operate to all points in the United States of America.

Any person or organisation wishing to make representations relating to this proposal must forward those representations in writing to reach me at the Ministry of Transport, P.O. Box 3175, Wellington, on or before 14 August 1997.
