NOTICE

1. Title—This notice may be cited as the Local Government Boundary Alteration Notice 1997.

2. Seaward boundaries altered—(1) The boundaries of the districts listed in the Schedule to this notice are altered by including in those districts all that area situated between the existing seaward boundary of each district and the line of mean low water springs.

(2) For the purposes of subclause (1), wherever the boundary of any district meets the boundary of another territorial authority district at the mean high water mark, the boundary of the first mentioned district extends from that point along a line running at 90 degrees from the line of the mean high water mark to the point where the boundary meets the line of mean low water springs.

(3) Nothing in this notice shall have the effect of excluding from any district any area included in that district prior to this notice coming into force.

3. Amendments—The notices specified in Schedule 2 are amended in the manner indicated in that Schedule.

4. Revocations—The notices specified in Schedule 3 are revoked.

Schedule 2

Notices Amended

"(2) For the purposes of subclause (1) of this clause, wherever the boundary of Porirua City meets the boundary of another territorial authority district at the mean high water mark, the boundary of Porirua City shall extend from that point along a line running at 90 degrees from the line of the mean high water mark to the point where the boundary meets the line of mean low water springs." |

"(2) For the purposes of subclause (1) of this clause, wherever the boundary of any district meets the boundary of another territorial authority district at the mean high water mark, the boundary of the first mentioned district shall extend from that point along a line running at 90 degrees from the line of the mean high water mark to the point where the boundary meets the line of mean low water springs." |

District Courts Act 1947

District Court Judge Appointed

Pursuant to sections 5 and 28B of the District Courts Act 1947, His Excellency the Governor-General of New Zealand has been pleased to appoint

Christoper John Field, barrister and solicitor of Auckland

to be a District Court Judge, to exercise civil and criminal jurisdiction within New Zealand, and to exercise the criminal jurisdiction of the District Courts under Part IIA of the District Courts Act 1947.
