Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992
Notice of Intention to Apply for Ministerial Approval of a Code of Practice Under the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992—Safety Code for Forest Operations
Pursuant to section 20 of the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992, I, R. J. M. Hill, General Manager, Occupational Safety and Health Service of the Department of Labour, in exercise of those powers delegated to me by the Secretary of Labour, pursuant to section 41 of the State Sector Act 1988, hereby give notice of intention to apply to the Minister of Labour for his approval of a statement of preferred work practices or arrangements for health and safety in Forest Operations as an “Approved Code of Practice” under the Act.
These preferred work practices or arrangements are designed to describe the general operational safety and health provisions as to personal protective safety equipment, emergency procedures, general safety rules, use of mobile plant, road construction and maintenance, use of chainsaws, working at forest and burn-offs, land preparation, establishment and silviculture, tree felling and extraction, processing and work with logs on skids, loading out and cartage of all types of forest produce and portable solid wood processing.

Exemption From Specified Requirements of the Traffic Regulations 1976
Pursuant to regulation 90 (1) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, I, Victor Ian Everiss, Vehicle Compliance Officer, hereby exempt the motor vehicle specified in Schedule 1 of this notice from the requirements of the Traffic Regulations 1976 listed in Schedule 2, subject to the conditions specified in Schedule 3 of this notice.

Approval of Hazardous Substances Courses
Pursuant to section 48 (2) (e) of the Transport (Vehicle and Driver Registration and Licensing) Act 1986, and under powers delegated to me by the Director of Land Transport Safety in an instrument of delegation dated the 23rd day of December 1996, I, Kevin Nickson, Regional Compliance Officer, Safer People and Operators, hereby approve the hazardous substance courses to be run by the following organisations for the purposes of section 70H (1) (a) of the Transport Act 1962:
