National Parks Act 1980

Part of Mount Aspiring National Park to be set Apart as a Wilderness Area

Pursuant to section 14 of the National Parks Act 1980, the Minister of Conservation, on the recommendation of the New Zealand Conservation Authority, hereby sets apart the land described in the Schedule hereto, being part of Mount Aspiring National Park, as a wilderness area to be known as the Olivine Wilderness Area.

16,000 hectares, more or less, being part Section 1, S.O. 11478, situated in Blocks XI, XII, XV and XVI, Gorge River Survey District and Blocks V, VI, IX, X, XI, XIII, XIV and XV, Macfarlane Survey District, Westland Land District; shown marked “A” on S.O. 12391, W.D./S.O. 24380 O.T.

20,000 hectares, more or less, being Rural Section 4817, Part Rural Section 6765 and Crown Land situated in Block XVI, Macfarlane Survey District and Blocks VIII, IX, X, XI, XII, XIII, XIV, XV, XVI, Jackson Survey District and Blocks I, II, III, IV, Mount Aspiring Survey District, Westland Land District; shown marked “B” on S.O. 12391, W.D./S.O. 24380 O.T.

47,000 hectares, more or less, being part Section 1, S.O. 23070, Section 1, Forbeside Survey District and Crown Land, situated in Cascade, Forbes, Forbeside and Humboldtside Survey Districts and Blocks II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX and X, Humboldt Survey District, Otago Land District; shown marked “C” on S.O. 24380, O.T./S.O. 12391 W.D.

Reserves Act 1977

Classification of a Reserve

Pursuant to the Reserves Act 1977, and to a delegation from the Minister of Conservation, the Regional Conservator, Canterbury, hereby classifies the reserve, described in the Schedule hereto, as a local purpose (landscape) reserve, subject to the provisions of the said Act.

Schedule

Canterbury Land District—Christchurch City

296 square metres, being Section 1, S.O. 18957. Subject to section 7(1) of the Christchurch City (Reserves) Empowering Act 1971.

Revocation of Reserves

Pursuant to the Reserves Act 1977, and to a delegation from the Minister of Conservation, the Regional Conservator, Canterbury, hereby revokes the reservations, as reserves as specified at the end of the respective descriptions of the said lands, over the lands described in the Schedule hereto, and further, declares that the said lands may be disposed of by The Selwyn District Council at market value. Proceeds from any such sales to be paid into the council’s reserves account, such money to be used and applied in or towards the improvement of other reserves under the control of the council, or in or towards the purchase of other land for reserves.

Canterbury Land District—Selwyn District

2.0234 hectares, being Reserve 1713. All New Zealand Gazette, 1879, page 826, and 1979, page 2035. S.O. Plan 2611. Recreation reserve.

Revocation of a Reserve

Pursuant to the Reserves Act 1977, and to a delegation from the Minister of Conservation, the Regional Conservator, Canterbury, hereby revokes the reservation as a recreation reserve, over the land described in the Schedule hereto, and further, declares that the said land may be disposed of by The Christchurch City Council at such price, and on such terms and conditions as the council shall determine.
