Notice of Intention to Apply for Ministerial Approval of a Code of Practice Under the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992

Safety Code for Operator Protective Structures on Self Propelled Mobile Mechanical Plant

Pursuant to section 20 of the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992, I, R. J. M. Hill, General Manager, Occupational and Health Service of the Department of Labour, in exercise of those powers delegated to me by the Secretary of Labour, pursuant to section 41 of the State Sector Act 1988, hereby give notice of intention to apply to the Minister of Labour for his approval of a statement of preferred work practices or arrangements for employers to consider when managing the roll over hazards, from use of mechanical plant, as an “Approved Code of Practice” under the Act.

These preferred work practices or arrangements are designed to provide designers, manufacturers, owners, suppliers, employers and users of self-propelled mobile mechanical plant with specifications, and technical means, to minimise the risks to the health and safety of employees and others working with or near mobile mechanical plant.

Pursuant to section 3 of the Harbours Act 1950, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council hereby makes the following order.

Order

1. Title and commencement—(1) This order may be cited as the Harbour Limits (Lake Waihola) Order 1997.

(2) This order shall come into force on the 28th day after the date of its publication in the New Zealand Gazette.

2. Lake Waihola harbour limits defined—The limits specified in the Schedule to this order are hereby defined as the harbour limits for Lake Waihola.

Schedule

All the navigable waters of Lake Waihola to the margin of Lake Waihola at ordinary lake level, up to but not including the Waipori River tributaries and channels.
