Dumping and Countervailing Duties Act 1988

Termination of Imposition of Notice Imposing Countervailing Duty in Respect of Canned Apricots from South Africa

In accordance with section 14 (7) of the Dumping and Countervailing Duties Act 1988 ("the Act"), I hereby terminate, with effect from 19 July 1997, the imposition of countervailing duty imposed on canned apricots from South Africa by reason that a review under section 14 (8) of the Act has found that the subsidy programme in respect of which the countervailing duties were imposed has been terminated and there is no longer a need for the imposition of countervailing duty on the goods.

The notice entitled "Final Determination of Subsidy Investigation: Canned Apricots From South Africa" dated 9 May 1997 and published in the New Zealand Gazette of 15 May 1997 is hereby revoked.

Revocation of Notice of Acceptance of Undertaking in Respect of Canned Peaches from South Africa

In accordance with section 15 of the Dumping and Countervailing Duties Act 1988 ("the Act"), I hereby revoke, with effect from 19 July 1997, the notice entitled "Acceptance of Undertaking in Respect of Canned Peaches From South Africa" dated 19 March 1997 and published in the New Zealand Gazette of 27 March 1997, by reason that a review under section 15 (7) of the Act has found that the subsidy programme to which the undertaking refers has been terminated and the imposition of countervailing duty in respect of which the undertaking was accepted has been terminated, and as a result there is no longer a need for the undertaking.
