Pursuant to section 34 of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, notification is hereby given of the ordinary rules set out in the Schedule hereto, which shall come into force on the 1st day of April 1997.

Civil Aviation Rules

The Minister of Transport intends to make ordinary rules in the following—

Flight Data Record Upgrade Amendment, Parts 1, 121, & 135

—pursuant to section 34 (1) (a) of the Civil Aviation Act 1990. The submission time for the proposed part is indicated in the NPRM and is not less than 40 days.

Copies of the Notice of Proposed Rule Making are available for viewing at: Aviation House, 1 Market Grove, Lower Hutt and on application to: The Docket Clerk, P.O. Box 31-441, Lower Hutt 6315.

Land Transport Safety Authority

Land Transport Act 1993

Notice of Proposed Seats and Seatbelts Rule

The Land Transport Safety Authority (LTSA), in accordance with section 10 (1) (a) of the Land Transport Act 1993, gives notice that draft Rule 32004 : Vehicle Standards (Seats and Seat Anchorages) and draft Rule 32011 : Vehicle Standards (Seatbelts and Seatbelt Anchorages) are now available for public comment.

Draft Rule 32004 proposes requirements for seat strength and for the anchorage of seats to the structure of the vehicle. Rule 32011 proposes requirements for the fitting and maintenance of seatbelts and seatbelt anchorages.

Draft Rules 32004 and 32011 are available for viewing at the LTSA’s 7 regional offices and at public libraries countrywide. Copies have been sent to the registered interest groups who expressed an interest in the preliminary draft.

Submissions on rule 32004 and 32011 close on 27 March 1997.
