Supplementary Integration Agreement

Pursuant to section 10 of the Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975, notice is given that a supplementary integration agreement has been signed between the Minister of Education on behalf of Her Majesty the Queen, acting through the Senior Manager, National Operations, Ministry of Education, pursuant to delegated authority, and the proprietors of the following schools:

St Peter Chanel Catholic School, Te Rapa.

St Columba’s School, Frankton.

The said supplementary integration agreements were executed on the 20th day of October 1997. Copies of the supplementary agreements are available for inspection without charge by any member of the public at the district office of the Ministry of Education, corner of Grey and Bridge Streets, Hamilton.

Fisheries Act 1983

The Fisheries (Southern Scallop Fishery Rotational Fishing) Notice 1997 (No. 3) (No. F70)

Pursuant to section 28ZF(2) of the Fisheries Act 1983 and acting pursuant to delegated authority in accordance with section 41 of the State Sector Act 1988, the Manager Fisheries Services, Ministry of Fisheries hereby makes the following notice:

Notice

  1. Title and commencement—(1) This notice may be cited as the Fisheries (Southern Scallop Fishery Rotational Fishing) Notice (No. 3) 1997.

(2) This notice shall come into effect the day after its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

  1. Interpretation—In this notice any reference to the Southern Scallop Fishery means the fishery described as SCA7 in Part III of the First Schedule to the Fisheries Act 1996.

  2. Rotational Fishing Areas—No commercial fisherman shall take scallops from the following defined areas within the waters of the Southern Scallop Fishery.

(a) Areas A and B

Those waters enclosed by a straight line commencing at Bush End Point Light, Farewell Spit at approximately 40° 32.9′ S and 173° 00.6′ E to Patons Rock at approximately 40° 47.3′ S and 172° 45.8′ E and then back along the mean high water mark to the point of commencement at Bush End Point Light, Farewell Spit at approximately 40° 32.9′ S and 173° 00.6′ E.

(b) Area D

Those waters enclosed by a straight line commencing near Totaranui at approximately 40° 49.0′ S and 173° 00.9′ E to the outer edge of Separation Point Coral Patch at approximately 40° 47.7′ S and 173° 07.7′ E to a point in mid Tasman Bay at 41° 02.8′ S and 173° 16.1′ E to Fishermans Island at approximately 40° 59.7′ S and 173° 03.1′ E to Guilbert Point at approximately 40° 59.5′ S and 173° 02.2′ E and then back along the mean high water mark to the point of commencement at a point near Totaranui at 40° 49.0′ S and 173° 00.9′ E.

(c) Areas F, G and H

Those waters enclosed by a straight line commencing at Motueka at approximately 41° 08.3′ S and 173° 01.3′ E to a point in mid Tasman Bay at 41° 02.8′ S and 173° 16.1′ E to Okuri Point at approximately 40° 58.6′ S and 173° 45.7′ E and then back along the mean high water mark to Motueka at approximately 41° 08.3′ S and 173° 01.3′ E.

(d) Marlborough Sounds

Those waters of the Southern Scallop Fishery which lie east of longitude 173° 50′ E other than those waters enclosed by a straight line from the northernmost point of Nile Head at 40° 38.7′ S, 173° 08.5′ E to the northernmost point of Cape Stephens at 40° 41.7′ S, 173° 57.5′ E and then back along the mean high water mark to the point of commencement.

  1. Cancellation of Previous Notice—The Fisheries (Southern Scallop Fishery Rotational Fishing) Notice (No. 2) 1997 (No. F67) published in the New Zealand Gazette on the 11th of September 1997, No. 124, at page 2929 is hereby cancelled.

Fisheries (Bycatch Trade-Off) Notice (No. 4) 1997 (No. F69)

Pursuant to section 28ZG of the Fisheries Act 1983 the Chief Executive, Ministry of Fisheries, hereby gives the following notice.

Notice

  1. Title and commencement—(1) This notice may be cited as the Fisheries (Bycatch Trade-off) Notice (No. 4) 1997.

(2) This notice shall come into effect the day after the date of its notification in the New Zealand Gazette, and shall expire on the 15th day of January 1998.

  1. Interpretation—In this notice:

(a) Any reference to Quota Management Area means the appropriate Quota Management Area as defined in the Fisheries Act 1996.
