Notice of Entry into Possession of Mortgaged Property

Pursuant to Section 104DD of the Property Law Act 1952

Take notice that on the 1st day of October 1997, The Trustees Executors and Agency Company of New Zealand Limited by virtue of memorandum of mortgage No. A.4148.3 (Canterbury Registry) entered into possession of the property situated at 221 Tuam Street, Christchurch, being all the land comprised in certificate of title 3D/825 (Canterbury Registry).

The registered office of The Trustees Executors and Agency Company of New Zealand Limited is at Wellington.

Any correspondence pertaining to this matter should be directed to Rudd Watts & Stone, solicitors for the mortgagee, P.O. Box 3798, Auckland 1 (Attention: Mrs J. A. Henry).

Citizens Initiated Referenda Act 1993

Notice of Proposal to Promote an Indicative Referendum Petition

Pursuant to section 7 of the Citizens Initiated Referenda Act 1993, I give notice that I have received from Mr Norm Withers, a proposal to promote an indicative referendum petition.

The wording of the question proposed to be put to voters in an indicative referendum is

“That should there be an urgent reform of our Justice system to introduce restorative justice which seeks to place greater emphasis on the needs of victims and includes minimum sentences and hard labour for all serious violent offences?”

Comment is invited on this wording.

Anyone wishing to comment must send 3 written copies to The Clerk of the House of Representatives, Bowen House, Parliament Buildings, Wellington, by 5 p.m. on Friday, the 14th day of November 1997.

Kirkpatrick Masonic Trust Empowering Bill 1997

Notice of Intention to Promote Private Bill

Notice is hereby given that the Board of Governors of Kirkpatrick House intends to promote for consideration by the House of Representatives a private Bill under the Short Title of the “Kirkpatrick Masonic Trust Empowering Bill 1997”. The objects of the Bill are to:

(a) Widen the purposes for which the residuary estate of the late Samuel Kirkpatrick may be applied towards assisting with the education and accommodation of female children who are in need; and

(b) Confer powers to sell, lease, or let Kirkpatrick House, and to sell or dispose of its furniture and effects; and

(c) Require the proceeds of any sale of Kirkpatrick House and the proceeds of any sale of the furniture and effects to form part of the residuary estate of the late Samuel Kirkpatrick; and

(d) Confer power to acquire or erect alternative accommodation for the wider purposes to which the residuary estate may be applied; and

(e) Consolidate and amend legislation relating to the Kirkpatrick Masonic Institute.

Communications to the promoter about the Bill may be sent to the Board’s Secretary at 28 Bridge Street (P.O. Box 708), Nelson.

A copy of the Bill may be inspected, during normal office hours on any working day, at the offices of the following:

(a) The Secretary of the Board (at the address stated above);

(b) The promoters’ solicitors, Glasgow Harley, Clifford House, 38 Halifax Street, Nelson;

(c) The Nelson District Court, Bridge Street, Nelson.
