Notice of Publication of Annual Report

Pursuant to the Public Finance Act 1989

The Ministry of Fisheries hereby gives notice that, pursuant to section 32A of the Public Finance Act 1989, as substituted by section 27(1) of the Public Finance Amendment Act 1994, it has delivered to the Minister of Fisheries the Fisheries Research annual report for the year ended 30 June 1997. The report contains a statement of service performance and a statement of liabilities, and has, with the consent of the Minister of Fisheries, been published.

Notice of Product Ruling

1. This is a notice of a product ruling made under section 91F of the Tax Administration Act 1994.

2. Product ruling No. 97/72 was issued on 24 September 1997. It relates to distributions to “designated sources” unit holders in a group investment fund, and the application of sections HE 2, HH 3 and the definition of “beneficiary income” in section OB 1, of the Income Tax Act 1994.

3. A copy of the ruling may be obtained by writing to the Assistant General Manager (Adjudication & Rulings), National Office, Inland Revenue, P.O. Box 2198, Wellington.

Gaming and Lotteries Act 1977

Permission to Conduct Within New Zealand a Lottery Promoted Outside New Zealand

Pursuant to section 69 of the Gaming and Lotteries Act 1977, I, Jack Elder, Minister of Internal Affairs, hereby permit Whitehall Laboratories Pty Limited, to conduct within New Zealand, subject to the conditions specified in the Schedule to this notice, a lottery promoted outside New Zealand as a sales promotion scheme, to promote the sale of the ChapStick product.

Conditions

The permission given by this notice is subject to the following conditions, namely:

(1) Whitehall Laboratories Pty Limited, shall not conduct the sales promotion scheme in New Zealand after 17 April 1998;

(2) The results of the sales promotion scheme shall be published in the Sunday Star Times on 27 April 1998; winners will be notified by certified mail;

(3) New Zealand winners shall not be subject to any extra cost when they claim their prizes;

(4) The chance of a New Zealand participant winning a prize shall be equal to that of an overseas participant.
