Fisheries Act 1983

The Fisheries (Southern Scallop Fishery Rotational Fishing) Notice (No. 2) 1997 (No. F67)

Pursuant to section 28ZF(2) of the Fisheries Act 1983 and acting pursuant to delegated authority in accordance with section 41 of the State Sector Act 1988, the Manager Fisheries Services, Ministry of Fisheries hereby makes the following notice:

N o t i c e

  1. Title and commencement—(1) This notice may be cited as the Fisheries (Southern Scallop Fishery Rotational Fishing) Notice (No. 2) 1997.

(2) This notice shall come into effect the day after its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

  1. Interpretation—In this notice any reference to the Southern Scallop Fishery means the fishery described as SCA7 in Part III of the First Schedule to the Fisheries Act 1996.

  2. Rotational Fishing Areas—No commercial fisherman shall take scallops from the following defined areas within the waters of the Southern Scallop Fishery.

(a) Areas A and B:
Those waters enclosed by a straight line commencing at Bush End Point Light, Farewell Spit at approximately 40° 32.9' S and 173° 00.6' E to Patons Rock at approximately 40° 47.3' S and 172° 45.8' E and then back along the mean high water mark to the point of commencement at Bush End Point Light, Farewell Spit at approximately 40° 32.9' S and 173° 00.6' E.

(b) Area D:
Those waters enclosed by a straight line commencing near Toraranui at approximately 40° 49.0' S and 173° 00.9' E to the outer edge of Separation Point Coral Patch at approximately 40° 47.7' S and 173° 07.7' E to a point in mid Tasman Bay at 41° 02.8' S and 173° 16.1' E to Fishersmans Island at approximately 40° 59.7' S and 173° 03.1' E to Guilbert Point at approximately 40° 59.5' S and 173° 02.2' E and then back along the mean high water mark to the point of commencement at a point near Toraranui at 40° 49.0' S and 173° 00.9' E.

(c) Areas F, G and H:
Those waters enclosed by a straight line commencing at Motueka at approximately 41° 08.3' S and 173° 01.3' E to a point in mid Tasman Bay at 41° 02.8' S and 173° 16.1' E to Okuri Point at approximately 40° 58.6' S and 173° 45.7' E and then back along the mean high water mark to Motueka at approximately 41° 08.3' S and 173° 01.3' E.

  1. Cancellation of Previous Notice—The Fisheries (Southern Scallop Fishery Rotational Fishing) Notice 1997 (No. F64) published in the New Zealand Gazette on the 21st day of August 1997, No. 99 at page 2327 is hereby cancelled.

New Zealand Food Standard 1996, Amendment No. 4

Section 11G of the Food Act 1981

The New Zealand Food Standard 1996, Amendment No. 4 was issued by the Minister of Health on 9 September 1997.

This standard, and the material incorporated by reference in this standard, i.e., the Australian Food Standards Code, up to and including Amendment No. 35, is available for inspection at the Ministry of Health, 133 Molesworth Street, Wellington.

Copies of both the New Zealand Food Standard 1996 and the Australian Food Standards Code, and their amendments, are available for purchase from any Bennetts Government Bookshop.

The New Zealand Food Standard 1996, Amendment No. 4, will come into force on the 28th day after the date of this notification.

Income Tax Act 1994

Notice of Determination of Tax Depreciation Rates

Pursuant to section EG 14 of the Income Tax Act 1994, notice is hereby given that the Commissioner of the Inland Revenue Department has issued “Determination DEP28: Tax Depreciation Rates General Determination No. 28”, pursuant to section EG 4 of the Income Tax Act 1994. The determination may be cited as “Determination DEP28: Tax Depreciation Rates General Determination No. 28”.

Determination DEP28 will appear in Inland Revenue’s Tax Information Bulletin, Vol. 9, No. 9 of September 1997.

A copy of the determination is available from Inland Revenue offices.
