Notice of Review of Need for Continued Imposition of Countervailing Duty on Canned Peaches From South Africa

I hereby give notice that, pursuant to sections 14 (8) and 15 (7) of the Dumping and Countervailing Duties Act 1988, I have initiated a review of the need for the continued imposition of countervailing duty on the goods described in the Schedule to this notice and of the price undertaking accepted from Langeberg Foods International in respect of those goods. The duty was imposed by the Minister of Commerce in a notice dated 9 May 1997, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of 15 May 1997. The undertaking was accepted by the Minister of Commerce in a notice dated 19 March 1997, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of 27 March 1997.

Description of Goods
Canned peaches (halves, slices or pieces) packed in various concentrations of sugar syrup and in can sizes ranging from 110 grams to 3 kilograms (A10).

The goods are currently classified under Tariff Item and Statistical Key 2008.70.09 00L of the Tariff of New Zealand, which classification is provided for convenience and Customs purposes only, the written description being dispositive.

Notice of Review of Need for Continued Imposition of Countervailing Duty on Canned Apricots From South Africa

I hereby give notice that, pursuant to sections 14 (8) and 15 (7) of the Dumping and Countervailing Duties Act 1988, I have initiated a review of the need for the continued imposition of countervailing duty on the goods described in the Schedule to this notice and of the price undertakings accepted from Langeberg Foods International and Ashton Canning Co (Pty) Limited in relation to those goods. The duty was imposed by the Minister of Commerce in a notice dated 9 May 1997, published in the New Zealand Gazette of 15 May 1997. The undertakings were accepted by the Minister of Commerce in a notice dated 25 March 1997, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of 3 April 1997.

The goods are currently classified under Tariff Items and Statistical Keys 8507.10.09.01C, 8507.10.09.11L, 8507.10.09.15C, 8507.10.09.19F and 8507.10.09.29C of the Tariff of New Zealand, which classification is provided for convenience and Customs purposes only, the written description being dispositive.

Canned apricots, packed (as apricot halves) in various concentrations of sugar syrup and in can sizes up to A10 (nominal size 3 kilograms).

The goods are currently classified under Tariff Item and Statistical Key 2008.50.09 00C of the Tariff of New Zealand, which classification is provided for convenience and Customs purposes only, the written description being dispositive.

Notice of Initiation of New Exporter Duty Reassessment for Lead Acid Batteries From Korea

Pursuant to section 14 (6) of the Dumping and Countervailing Duties Act 1988 (“the Act”), and under delegated authority from the Secretary of Commerce, I hereby give notice that I have initiated a reassessment of the amount of anti-dumping duty in respect of imports into New Zealand of the goods described in the Schedule.

Lead acid automotive replacement batteries for the passenger motor vehicle market and marine applications (excluding DIN batteries and deep cycle marine batteries) when manufactured by Delkor Corporation, Korea and exported by General Motors Overseas Distribution Corporation.

Country of Origin
Korea.
