Notice is given that on the 25th day of March 1996, an order was made by the District Court, pursuant to section 84 (2) (b) of the Criminal Justice Act 1985, for the confiscation of the following vehicle owned by Darren John Muir:
1983 Mitsubishi Saloon motorcar, registration No. LF 2046.

Closure of Rangitukia School Notice
Pursuant to section 154 of the Education Act 1989, I hereby declare that Rangitukia School will close on the 19th day of July 1996 and will cease to be established on that day.

Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Tapere-Nui-A-Whatonga
Under sections 146 and 155 of the Education Act 1989, the Minister of Education hereby gives the following notice:
N o t i c e

This notice may be cited as Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Tapere-Nui-A-Whatonga.

This notice shall come into force on 22 July 1996.

I hereby establish at Rangitukia a primary school called Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Tapere-Nui-A-Whatonga, and designate the school as a kura kaupapa Maori.

Aims, purposes, and objectives of Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Tapere-Nui-A-Whatonga. Together with the use of te reo Maori as the principal language of instruction, the following aims, purposes, and objectives constitute the character of Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Tapere-Nui-A-Whatonga:
(i) To develop a high degree of self-esteem in every student.
(ii) To encourage a sense of pride in being Maori, self-respect, and self-confidence.
(iii) To allow each student to discover his/her own potential and to explore and extend their individual and group creativity.
(iv) To teach the positive aspects of sharing, support and participation.
(v) To reinforce the practical and spiritual value of Maori land and language.
(vi) To cultivate an awareness of the place of the individual in the universe and his/her relationship and responsibilities to all people and things in nature.
(vii) To enhance the cultural differences of a multi-cultural society.
(viii) To ensure a high standard of achievement in the acquisition of educational and vocational skills.
(ix) To ensure a high level of competence in Maori language is achieved by each student.
(x) To allow each student to discover his/her potential as a future decision maker.
- Constitution of the Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees of Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Tapere-Nui-A-Whatonga shall comprise:
(a) Five people appointed by the Minister.
(b) The principal.
(c) A staff representative.
(d) Not more than four persons co-opted by the Board.

Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Wairarapa Amendment Notice 1996
Pursuant to section 155 (8) of the Education Act 1989, and to a delegation from the Minister of Education, the Group Manager Implementation, Ministry of Education, Wellington, hereby gives the following notice:
N o t i c e
- The Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Wairarapa 1991 Notice is hereby amended by the insertion of the following new clause:
5A Constitution of the Board of Trustees
(a) Five elected parent representatives
(b) The principal
(c) A staff representative
(d) Not more than four persons co-opted by the Board.

Clause 5 of the notice entitled Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Wairarapa 1991, published in the New Zealand Gazette of 24 January 1991, No. 11, pages 194, 195 is hereby revoked.

This notice shall come into force on the day after the date of its publication in the New Zealand Gazette.

Education (Early Childhood Centres) Regulations 1990
Cancellation of Licence
Pursuant to regulation 14 of the Education (Early Childhood Centres) Regulations 1990, and acting under authority delegated by the Secretary for Education, I hereby cancel the licence dated 3 November 1993, which was granted under those regulations to Mat Hohepa in respect of:
Te Hikuwai Kohanga Reo, Tarawhai Marae, Rotoiti.
This notice shall take effect the day after the date of its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.
