Appointments, Promotions, Extensions, Transfers, Resignations and Retirements of Officers of the Royal New Zealand Navy

Pursuant to section 32 of the Defence Act 1990, His Excellency the Governor-General has approved the following appointments, promotions, extensions, transfers, resignations and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Naval Forces.

ROYAL NEW ZEALAND NAVY

The appointment of Commander J.S.C. Clark is extended until 12 December 1997.

Captain John Edward Robert Granville, DIP.STRAT.STUD., is re-appointed to the RNZN in the rank of Commander, with seniority from 29 June 1984 and effect from 1 April 1996.

Acting Commander Iain David Cameron Ross is placed on the Retired List of the RNZN in the rank of Commander with effect from 31 March 1996.

Lieutenant Commander J.R. Steer to be acting Commander with effect from 29 June 1991, and Commander with seniority and effect from 5 July 1991.

Lieutenant Commander M.J. Eskrick to be Commander with seniority and effect from 30 March 1996.

Lieutenant Commander Brian Rai Simpson is placed on the Retired List of the RNZN with effect from 11 April 1996.

Lieutenant Commander Peter Hooper Doole is transferred to the RNZAF with effect from 19 February 1996.

Lieutenant Commander Peter Young Denny, Retired List, is re-appointed to the RNZN in his present rank, with seniority from 1 October 1982 and effect from 5 February 1996.

Lieutenant Leigh George Morley, M.B.E., B.E.M., Retired List, is re-appointed to the RNZN in the rank of Lieutenant Commander, with seniority from 12 February 1996 and effect from 4 March 1996.

Gordon Philip Hook, M.A., LL.B., is appointed to the RNZN in the rank of Lieutenant Commander, with seniority from 1 January 1993 and effect from 17 March 1996.

The appointment of Lieutenant R.A. Cook is extended until 20 August 1998.

Lieutenant A.G. Nuttall to be acting Lieutenant Commander with effect from 4 March 1996.

Lieutenant G.L. Hawkins: the notice published in the Gazette, 15 February 1996, No. 13, p. 447, is cancelled and the following substituted: ‘Lieutenant G.L. Hawkins is transferred to the RNZNVR in his present rank and seniority, with effect from 17 February 1996.’

The appointments of the following Lieutenants (on prob.) to the RNZN are confirmed:

Lieutenant Vincent Leslie Lane is placed on the Emergency List of Officers of the Naval Reserve with effect from 6 April 1996.

Lissa Gaye Jackson, RAN Rtd, is appointed to the RNZN in the rank of Lieutenant, with seniority from 14 February 1992 and effect from 4 March 1996.

The appointment of Sub Lieutenant (on prob.) J.L. Jolly, B.TECH., to the RNZN is confirmed.

Sub Lieutenant L.J. Gillman, RNZNVR: the notice published in the Gazette, 30 November 1995, No. 142, p. 4632, is cancelled and the following substituted: ‘Sub Lieutenant L.J. Gillman, RNZNVR is appointed to the RNZN in his present rank and seniority, with effect from 13 September 1995.’

Sub Lieutenant K.J. Sanderson, M.SC., RNZNVR is appointed to the RNZN in his present rank, with seniority from 1 January 1994 and effect from 10 January 1996.

The appointment of Ensign (on prob.) T.M. Foote to the RNZN is confirmed; to be Sub Lieutenant with seniority from 15 July 1995 and effect from 19 January 1996.

The appointment of Ensign (on prob.) Gregory James Holland lapses with effect from 23 January 1996.

Ensign (on prob.) Karen Joy Bleakley, DIP.ARCH.DRAFT., RNZNVR is appointed to the RNZN in the rank of Ensign (on prob.), with seniority from 1 January 1996 and effect from 10 January 1996.

Midshipman J.P. Miller to be Ensign with seniority from 1 September 1995 and effect from 1 January 1996.
