Charitable Trusts Act Notices

Public Notice

In the High Court of New Zealand under the Charitable Trusts Act 1957, John Wells Chapman established a trust in 1924 for a piece of his land in Piako Road, Gordonton, to be used for sites for an Anglican church, public hall, a school and a crematory (i.e. dairy factory):

The New Zealand Guardian Trust Company Limited as trustee has applied for an order approving a scheme whereby the land is sold and the proceeds distributed equally for the benefit of St Mary’s Anglican Church, Gordonton and the Gordonton Public Hall and the Gordonton School.

Any person desiring to oppose this scheme must give written notice of the intention to do so to the Registrar of the High Court in Bridge Street, Hamilton, and to the Attorney-General at the Crown Law Office, 45 Pipitea Street, Wellington, and the trustee at its office in NZI House, Garden Place, Hamilton, not less than seven (7) clear days before the date of the hearing, which is to take place on Wednesday, 1 May 1996 at 9.00 a.m.
