Civil Aviation Act 1990

Designation of Country for Open Aviation Market Licences

Pursuant to section 87R of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, I designate Australia as a country in respect of which—

(a) scheduled international air services; and

(b) non-scheduled international flights engaged in the carriage of passengers, cargo or mail for remuneration or hire,

may be carried on, to and from New Zealand, pursuant to and in conformity with an open aviation market licence.

This designation shall come into effect from 1 November 1996.

Notice of Variation of an International Air Service Licence

Pursuant to section 87Q (4) of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, and a delegation from the Secretary for Transport dated 28 August 1996, I give notice that, having received an application from Lufthansa German Airlines of Cologne, Germany, I have varied the International Air Service Licence held by that airline to increase its capacity on the route ‘‘points in Germany to Auckland via any intermediate point and beyond to any point’’, from 2 to 3 return services per week, with any aircraft type, with effect from 27 October 1996.

Civil Aviation Rules

The Minister of Transport intends to make ordinary rules in the following CAR Part—

Part 172—Air Traffic Service Organisations—Certification

pursuant to section 34 (1) (a) of the Civil Aviation Act 1990. The submission time for the proposed part is indicated in the NPRM and is not less than 40 days.

Casino Control Authority

Casino Control Act 1990

Rules of Casino Table Games, Amendment No. 4

Pursuant to section 63 of the Casino Control Act 1990, the Casino Control Authority on 18 October 1996 resolved that the Rules of Casino Table Games approved to be conducted and played in the licensed casinos at:

(a) 30–38 Victoria Street, Christchurch, and

(b) the property bounded by Hobson, Victoria, Federal and Wellesley Streets, Auckland,

as set out in the Supplement to the New Zealand Gazette dated Friday, 26 January 1996, and as subsequently amended by notices in the editions of the New Zealand Gazette of Thursday, 22 February 1996, Thursday, 4 April 1996 and Thursday, 11 July 1996, be amended as set out below.

1.0 Commencement

These amendments shall come into force at 10.00 a.m. on Thursday, 31 October 1996.

2.0 Application of General Rules and Rules of Blackjack

Rule 2.2 of Division XI is hereby amended by deleting, from subparagraph (a), the words ‘‘Part 13.0’’, and substituting ‘‘rules 14.2 and 14.4, and Part 13.0’’.

3.0 Conditions of Entry

Subparagraph (a) of rule 3.5 of Division XI is hereby amended by:

(a) deleting ‘‘7’’ and substituting ‘‘2’’; and

(b) inserting, after the words ‘‘tournament play’’, ‘‘or, at the discretion of the casino operator, thereafter but prior to the beginning of tournament play’’.

4.0 Wagers

Rule 4.8 of Division XI is hereby amended by deleting, from subparagraph (a), the words ‘‘regarded as valid once only during the session in respect of the player, but otherwise shall be void’’ and substituting ‘‘required to be increased to the table minimum’’.
