BANKRUPTS.

PUBLIC NOTICES are hereby given, that JOHN HUGHES, of Kororareka, in the Bay of Islands, Innkeeper, having been declared a Bankrupt, under the provisions of "The Insolvent Act, 1841," and having filed his schedule in the office of the Commissioner of the Supreme Court of New Zealand, at Auckland, and the same having been duly accepted, all persons indebted to the said Bankrupt, or having in their possession any of his effects, are hereby required to pay or deliver the same to WILLIAM COOPER, of Auckland, Merchant, the Assignee duly appointed to act in the matter of the said Bankruptcy, on or before the first day of March next, at Auckland, at the office of the said William Cooper, or in default thereof, they will be liable to be sued for the same by the said Assignee.

And all persons to whom the said Bankrupt may be indebted, are hereby required to come in and prove their debts before me, at my office in Auckland, on the second day of March next, at Eleven of the Clock in the Fore noon.

Dated at Auckland this 15th day of February, 1850.

NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS.

Persons desirous of tendering for the Erection of a Court-house and Custom-house at Russell, Bay of Islands, are requested to send in their tenders, sealed, to the Colonial Secretary's Office, Auckland, on or before Twelve o'Clock on Monday, the Fourth day of March next.

Plans and Specifications can be seen at the Office of the Colonial Architect, Auckland.

NOTICE.

WHEREAS it hath been represented to the Governor of New Zealand, that WILLIAM BROWN, of Auckland, Merchant, hath absconded, and that there is good reason to believe he has departed from the Colony:

These are therefore to give notice, that all persons are hereby warned and cautioned not to give any credit to the said William Brown, on my account, as I will not be answerable for any debts which he may contract after the date hereof.

NOTICE TO SHIPOWNERS.

Masters of Vessels leaving the Port of Auckland are hereby required to give Twenty-four Hours Notice of their intention to sail, to the Collector of Customs, and to obtain a Clearance, previous to their departure.
