Radiation Protection Regulations 1982

Adoption of Regulations for the Safe Transport of Radioactive Materials 1985

Notice

1. Pursuant to regulation 2 (3) of the Radiation Protection Regulations 1982, I, Jennifer Mary Shipley, Minister of Health, subject to the modification specified in clause 2 of this notice, hereby adopt for the purposes of the Radiation Protection Regulations 1982, the regulations for the Safe Transport of Radioactive Materials 1985 (as amended in 1990), published by the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna.

2. Paragraph 467 of the regulations for the Safe Transport of Radioactive Materials 1985 (as amended in 1990) is, for the purposes of the Radiation Protection Regulations 1982, hereby modified by adding the words “or alternatively in the front or rear in the case of such a vehicle” to the end of subparagraph (b) of that paragraph.

3. The notice issued under the Radiation Protection Regulations 1982 on 23 February 1987 and published in the New Zealand Gazette on 12 March 1987 at page 1142, is hereby revoked.

4. This notice shall come into force 1 month after the date of its publication in the New Zealand Gazette.

Notice of Determination of Tax Depreciation Rates

Pursuant to section EG 14 of the Income Tax Act 1994, notice is hereby given that the Commissioner of the Inland Revenue Department has issued “Determination DEP 17: Tax Depreciation Rates General Determination Number 17”, pursuant to section EG 4 of the Income Tax Act 1994. The determination may be cited as “Determination DEP 17: Tax Depreciation Rates General Determination Number 17”.

Determination DEP 17 appeared in Inland Revenue’s Tax Information Bulletin, Vol. 8, No. 2 of August 1996.

A copy of the determination is available from Inland Revenue offices.

1. This is a notice of a withdrawal of a product ruling made under section 91F of the Tax Administration Act 1994.

2. Product ruling No. 95/8 is hereby withdrawn.

3. Product ruling 95/8 originally applied to the calculation of New Zealand superannuitant surcharge for the 1996 to 1999 income years, and notice of its making appeared in the New Zealand Gazette of 30 November 1995.

4. Product ruling 95/8 is withdrawn on and from 5 September 1996.

2. Product ruling No. 96/20 was issued on 31 July 1996.
