Financial Reporting Act 1993

Notice (No. 9) of Approval of Amendment to Financial Reporting Standard

Notice is hereby given, pursuant to section 29 of the Financial Reporting Act 1993 ("the Act") that the Accounting Standards Review Board has approved, for the purposes of the Act, an amendment to Financial Reporting Standard No. 2 "Presentation of Financial Reports", submitted to it by the New Zealand Society of Accountants.

The effect of the amendment is that where an entity presents a statement of service performance as part of its financial report, the present requirement in paragraph 5.15 of FRS 2 to state comparative figures for all items in the report will cease to apply in respect of items in the statement of service performance in respect of accounting periods and interim accounting periods that end on or after 31 December 1995.

A copy of the amendment and consequential amendments to the relevant commentary may be purchased from the offices of the New Zealand Society of Accountants, 57 Willis Street (P.O. Box 11-342), Wellington and 27-33 Ohinerau Street, Remuera (P.O. Box 3334), Auckland.

Commodity Levies Orders

Rates of Vegetable Levy Fixed

The New Zealand Vegetable and Potato Growers’ Federation Inc advises that under the orders indicated it has fixed the following levy rates, each for the period 1 January 1996 to 30 September 1996.

Under the Commodity Levies (Fresh Vegetables) Order 1995, at 0.45 percent of the selling price or f.o.b. value (plus G.S.T.).

Under the Commodity Levies (Fresh Tomatoes) Order 1995, at 1 percent of the selling price or f.o.b. value (plus G.S.T.).

Under the Commodity Levies (Export Squash) Order 1995, at 0.15 percent of the selling price or f.o.b. value (plus G.S.T.).

Under the Commodity Levies (Asparagus) Order 1995, at 0.15 percent of the selling price, notional selling price or f.o.b. value (plus G.S.T.).

Under the Commodity Levies (Potatoes) Order 1995, at 0.75 percent of the selling price, notional selling price or f.o.b. value (plus G.S.T.).

Under the Commodity Levies (Processing Vegetables) Order 1995, at 0.5625 percent of the selling price or notional selling price (plus G.S.T.).

Under the Commodity Levies (Processing Tomatoes) Order 1995, at 0.15 percent of the selling price or notional selling price (plus G.S.T.).

Local Authorities Loans Act 1956

Notice of Result of Poll on Loan Proposal

Central Hawke’s Bay District Council Loan 1996, $2,207,600

Pursuant to section 38 of the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, notice is hereby given that a poll of electors of the Central Hawke’s Bay District taken on 15 December 1995 on the proposal of the above-named local authority to raise a loan of $2,207,600 to be known as the Central Hawke’s Bay District Council Loan 1996, $2,207,600 for the following purposes:

$23,900 Waipawa Water Supply – to seal reservoir and purchase an automatic chlorinator.

$1,045,900 Waste Management – for the cost of construction of the landfill site and transfer stations, purchase bins and clean up existing rubbish tip sites.

$53,000 Otane Sewerage – to upgrade oxidation pond.

$371,000 Waipukurau Sewerage – to upgrade oxidation pond.

$222,000 Waipawa Sewerage – to upgrade oxidation pond.

$6,400 Porangahau Sewerage – to upgrade oxidation pond.

$84,800 Waipukurau Stormwater – for improvements to the system in St Marys Road.

$400,000 Swimming Baths – as part of council’s contribution to the construction of the covered heated swimming pool.

Resulted as follows:

The No. of votes recorded for the proposal was: 920

The No. of votes recorded against the proposal was: 1170

The No. of informal votes was: 20

I therefore declare that the proposal was rejected.
