Local Government Act 1974

Regional Petrol Tax

Pursuant to sections 200C and 200D of the Local Government Act 1974, The Wellington Regional Council notifies that the council shall, from midnight, 28 September 1995, levy a regional petrol tax for the purposes of funding passenger services.

The rate of tax is:

(a) 1.95 cents per litre, exclusive of G.S.T., in those areas covered by the Cities of Wellington, Porirua, Lower Hutt and Upper Hutt.

(b) 0.65 cents per litre, exclusive of G.S.T., in that part of the Kapiti Coast District south of the line defined by:

The northern boundary of those parts of Waikanae Beach and Waikanea zoned residential as at 2 June 1992, which are located to the west of Huia Road and a boundary formed when straight lines are drawn from the residential limit on Huia Road to the northern extremity of Mangaone South Road and from there to the summit of Mount Hector.

The area over which the Regional Petrol Tax is to be levied is shown in detail marked on The Wellington Regional Council’s Wellington Regional Petrol Tax Area Map which is available for inspection at The Wellington Regional Council, Level Five, The Regional Centre, 142–146 Wakefield Street, Wellington.

Order of the Council in Disciplinary Session—Order in Respect of Eduard Jacobus Bruin, Enrolled Nurse

In exercise of its powers under sections 42 (1) (b), 42 (2) (d), 42 (3) and 48A of the Nurses Act 1977, the Nursing Council of New Zealand after due inquiry on 23 and 24 May 1995, ordered that enrolled nurse Eduard Jacobus Bruin be censured; that he pay $30,000.00 toward the costs and expenses of and incidental to the inquiry by the Council and investigation made by the Preliminary Proceedings Committee; and that a notice stating the effect of these orders be published in the New Zealand Gazette, and Kai Tiaki: Nursing New Zealand Journal (formerly the New Zealand Nursing Journal).
