Conservation Act 1987

Declaring That Land be Held for Conservation Purposes Together With the Declaration That the Area Become a Local Purpose (Aerodrome) Reserve and Classified as Such and Vested in The Auckland City Council, in Trust, for That Purpose to Form Part of the Okiwi Airfield

Pursuant to section 7 (1A) of the Conservation Act 1987, the Minister of Conservation declares that the land described in the Schedule hereto, is held for conservation purposes and, pursuant to section 8 (1A) of the Act, further declares that the conservation area shall be a local purpose (aerodrome) reserve, subject to the provisions of the Reserves Act 1977, and further, pursuant to the Reserves Act 1977, classifies the said reserve as a local purpose (aerodrome) reserve and vests the said reserve in The Auckland City Council, in trust, for that purpose, to form part of the Okiwi Airfield.

Reserves Act 1977

Notice of Intention to Establish the J M Barker (Hapupu) National Reserve

In terms of section 13 (3) (a), Reserves Act 1977, the Minister of Conservation notifies his intention to establish a National Reserve at the J M Barker (Hapupu) Historic Reserve, Chatham Island.

The reserve covers an area of 30,1055 hectares. It features graphic art of the Moriori people in the form of carvings on kopi trees. The reserve was previously declared to be a National Reserve, but a procedural error in the classification process resulted in that declaration being invalid.

Persons wishing to obtain more information on this proposal, or submit a submission or objection, should do so in writing to Regional Conservator, Department of Conservation, Private Bag, Christchurch.

Submissions and objections must be received before 30 November 1995.

Classification of a Reserve

Pursuant to the Reserves Act 1977, and to a delegation from the Minister of Conservation, the Regional Conservator, Canterbury, hereby declares the reserve described in the Schedule hereto, to be classified as a scenic reserve, subject to the provisions of section 19 (1) (a) of the said Act.

Declaration That Land is a Reserve

Pursuant to the Reserves Act 1977, and to a delegation from the Minister of Conservation, the Regional Conservator of the Wellington Conservancy of the Department of Conservation, hereby notifies that the following resolution was passed by The Wellington City Council on 10 August 1994:

“That in exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 14 of the Reserves Act 1977, The Wellington City Council hereby resolves that the pieces of land held by the said council in fee simple and described in the Schedule hereto shall be, and the same are hereby declared to be, local purpose reserves within the meaning of section 23 of the said Act.”

7432 square metres, more or less, being Lot 38, D.P. 46439 and Lots 50 and 51, D.P. 46531. All C.T. 27A/456, subject to Section 5 of the Coal Mines Act 1979. Local purpose reserve (utility).

3924 square metres, more or less, being Lots 68, 69 and part Lot 70, Block II, D.P. 1335. All C.T. 43D/726. Local purpose reserve (community purposes).
